2019 Truck cap/topper/camper shell thread

Somehow mine seems to sit even on the bed rails but is higher on one side of the tailgate than the other.

So, either the topper or the truck is crooked a little. Neither would surprise me.

the plastic piece that covers the top of the tailgate touches the paint in one place as well.

Looks like they may have added a bit more rubber to cover the holes...

As you can see from my pics, there were huge gaps and water simply poured in.
I'll have to either find the pics of my 'fix' or go out and take pics of the truck later.

RSI topper looks great! Expecting mine in the next 4 week +/- and can’t wait for it to get here…

Do you have the CHMSL rearview mirror camera? If so, any chance you could post a pic of what you see with the RSI installed?

I do, and it actually doesn't block it as badly as I thought it would. It's about 50% of the field of view. But, I still want to see if I can relocate it. I'll try to get a picture for you soon.

@SFAngus The cap doesn't have the ability to "drop" the front window does it? I had bought a used cap that I had on mine only a few months and the inability to keep the rear window clean killed me.

Here you go. One thing I have noticed is that the rubber gasket right at the bottom where the handles latch is already a little chewed up but the edge of the door/window and two screw heads at that location. I can see that the gap is larger on the passenger side than the driver. The photos make them look roughly the same, but when measured, the divers side gap is about 1/2 the passenger side. Mine did not leak when tested but it might be good to even the gaps out. How did you adjust?

I added some more weather stripping in the back and used a heat fun to shape some Kydex and used some Kydex/ABS glue to stick it into place.
Now the water rolls further to the outside and not straight back into the truck, not great visually sloe up, but not noticeable at a distance.

Also used RTV to seal the gap between the frame and plastic cap, otherwise when you open the door the water rolls under the edge and onto you...

The photos aren't great, but here's what it looks like now with the camera looking through the cap:

Cool. That’s better than I expected. Many thanks!!

Yeah, it's much better than I was expecting as well. I'm still going to try to come up with a solution to relocate the camera to the rear of the cap. I believe there's another thread here somewhere with the details... I'll post in there if I figure out a good solution.

The Ram world must make a decision and stick to it. Been searching a 100 mile radius from me and can not seem to locate a used topper for my 6.4 bed. I can find tons for Chevy and Ford. I guess the Ram guys just don’t change there minds much.

Not sure if you've checked with any topper dealers around you, but the ones around here sell take-offs. They may not be as screaming of a deal as you can find on Craigslist, but still a hefty savings over new. Both of the dealers closest to me have multiple options for the shortbed listed in their used section.

So I found a Leer 100 XR cap locally. Seems The FLW got a better sponsorship from ARE and they are ditching all there Leer tops. The guy I bought from is selling it for 450, so he must have gotten a deal. He bought 11 of them to resale. My question is they just cut the wires. Should there be a wiring harness to buy with a fuse block or just straight wire it?
