I am NG115354, limited 3500 mega Cummins ordered on 6/18. It looks like the sequence number may be based on the order date in addition to maybe the model? Which makes sense based on how my sequence is higher than yours mx (think we’re both limited, but yours was ordered first). However, Lary ordered well after me yet has a lower sequence #. Perhaps that’s because his order is a limited longhorn, not a limited, so it’s in a different category.

Lary's is higher than yours.

Lary's is higher than yours.
Sorry what I meant was he was before me in build order. He’s numerically “lower” despite his order being placed after, which means he’s in a “higher” order/priority/whatever. I think you’re right by saying higher, but really, my main point/idea was that I think the trim’s may be “bucketed” somehow, which impacts this overall order.

This kinda goes along w/something else mx said earlier in this thread, which is that they generally tend to build bh’s/tradesmans first, then limited/limited Longhorns, then the rest. Who really knows though, so I’m mostly just interpreting tea leaves on build order since I can’t do anything else but wait :)

Mine is just a well optioned BigHorn, poor boy!

I'd love to get a 50gal tank for $272. Hemi with a baby tank is going to get annoying fast. I'm going to try and put a Titan one in the factory spot once the truck comes in

2500HD AT4 was the first thing I drove, and it rode like a brick ****house. I also drove a Denali after that. Both of their mirrors shook all to hell, and they design it to seem much bigger than it is. My 04 2500hd rode better. It is a very common complaint among owners.

Went right down the road and the Ram seemed like an old Cadillac
At4 or Denali they both run same suspension so it doesn’t matter which model you drove, same goes for any other truck manufacturers. If you say gmc drove like a brick, I know you haven’t driven one then, I’m sorry this just would be a false statement. Your comparing Ram front straight axle suspension vs gmc front independent suspension which rides like day and night difference, and it is way smoother. I owned both trucks and I can speak for it.

Just to add to your vin and order date tracking:
2500 Laramie: NG103157 on 5/27.

also, in case it hasn’t been mentioned, the 2022 Ram is now added to the Costcoauto.com builder, so you can build your ideal truck and see the MSRP vs Invoice. If you’re working with Mark Dodge, taking that invoice price and multiplying it by 0.945 will get you around their price (that is deducting 5.5% from the invoice number).

I’m NG102123 with a Longhorn ordered 5/14.

I wonder how it works for those that had 21s converted to 22s. They ordered earlier, but I’m sure lower VINs weren’t reserved for that case. So will they get built first with a higher sequence number? Or will they get whatever spot came next the day their conversion happened? Food for thought…

That's a really interesting question.

NG102255 (Laramie Megacab)… ordered 5/17 and was automatically switched from 2021 to 22. Received VIN 5/20….

Curious how they determine what gets built first too.

WOW huge news and change in timing for me.. I just heard from my dealer that my truck actually is staying as a 2021 as originally intended and that it will be built in the next couple of days. It switched to D1 status and the ETA ship date is 08/06. Apparently my truck and 1 others kept switching back and forth between 21' and 22' in the system and VIN's being re-generated. I am honestly just happy I will be getting my truck sooner after all this uncertainty and as I am keeping the truck for so long and modifying it so much it does not matter to me one bit that it is a 21' in the end. I am just so stoked!

Just a heads up. Sandi sent me the 2022 pricing for my truck that I ordered in May. Asked her about the sunroof debacle. Turns out that the Canadian company that makes the sunroofs hasn’t opened yet (covid reasons)… so it sounds like that’s why a few people were getting warnings about delays.

They must have kept the plant open a couple extra couple of weeks for builds they had parts for,the plant was scheduled for shutdown this past week
