The last few weeks since I picked up my new truck I’ve been fighting with the cluster dimmer switch. Too dim during the day unless I move it to the always bright setting, and then to bright at night unless I scroll it down. Today I realized with my headlights set to Auto where I leave them that the lights and running lights are not shutting off during the day even in full sun. I don’t think the sensor is working which would explain both problems. Calling the dealer Monday. Anybody else?

It’s not the sensor. It’s a setting in the BCM that is set incorrectly on some Rams from the factory, usually on Canadian trucks. The dealer won’t be able to do anything about it. You’ll need AlfaOBD to correct it.

Interesting...mine is indeed a Canadian truck. Very annoying problem. Not sure I want to reprogram anything however. I’ll speak to the dealer and see what they say. Appreciate your input

Update.....Fixed. Had the truck at the dealer today. They weren’t sure at first. They I was talking to the service manager about the tunnel detection that Jimmy07 mentioned. He screen shot the dealer scan took before and after reconfiguring the BCM to factory defaults and the setting changed. He assumed Chrysler has now updated the default setting. Lights are functioning properly now.
