2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

LPD camera is the cargo camera that faces down into the bed. The digital rear view mirror uses a separate camera in the CHMSL.

Thanks Jimmy07! Didn’t realize that option was the Cargo camera only. I am okay without that.

Got word from my dealer that my order, which was submitted yesterday, went to "D" status, which means it is on a firm schedule to build and has a "forever" VIN assigned :) That was quick. Now the bad news, it kicked out two options: SJE Adaptive Steering System and LPD CMHSL LAMP W/Camera. I am not so upset about the Adaptive steering but really at a loss why the CHMSL W Camera option got rejected. My question is without the CHMSL camera what would the Digital rear view mirror show? The dealer is reaching out to the factory rep to understand why these two options got rejected from the firm order. I also asked them to confirm why we couldn't spec the XH7 wired TOW Camera in dealer connect. I really could use the XH7 camera option over the CHMSL camera when I have my truck camper on the bed. Hopefully some insight on what's going on early next week.
Did you get limited level 1? I think that one comes with the cargo camera, which would kick out the option to add it.

Yes, selected A69 (Limited Level 1). Looking at the packages included it does not specifically call out LPD as included. It looks like the 4500/5500 packages have a bit of oddities when comparing to 2500/3500 options included.

Surround view (truck) automatically includes the cargo camera.

Thanks, then that would make sense why the separate LPD options for the Cargo camera got kicked out.
lane keep assist would explain why adaptive steering got kicked, because it automatically comes with lane keep assist.

Do dealers normally agree on trade-in value when you place your order or tell you to wait until your truck arrives?

Most often it seems you agree on trade in when agreeing on purchase price, under the condition you don’t exceed X miles and vehicle is turned-in in the same condition it was appraised at.

finally settled and ordered with Sandi. Gary was a solid second but it was 1350 miles either direction I went, and Sandi’s offer was better. Pulled the AVF option based on solid (better) wireless options aftermarket and not wanting to run 50’ of cable dedicated to one trailer.

Your right  , I see that now looking through the option in the HD 2021 brochure. Thanks again Jimmy07 for the insight!

After going through this process, ordering a brand new vehicle sure caused me to have a bad case of FOMO :D. Last thing I wanted was to place an order only to find out the packages I added didn't actually have the items I wanted.

Just check all the ordering boxes ;) I hear you especially when the dealer tells you that the order codes are kicked out of your order.

Another order placed at Mark Dodge with Sandi, a real pleasure to work with. Thanks for all the great advice on this thread! I'm hoping these California bound orders come in around the same time, sure would be nice to save a little on shipping.

When did you order? What is the build schedule now that it's been assigned?

Ordered today from Carl at Criswell in Gaithersburg, MD (couldn't justify the drive from LA). Best guess on delivery date?

They're not even starting production of 2022s until July 26. So, you can expect more in the September/October time frame.

If it was really in production, he'd be able to provide you with actual build status codes.
