Power adjust convex mirrors

My biggest complaint with these mirrors is that the convex portion isn’t power adjustable across the board. I didn’t realize there even was an option for it, not that I was looking since I bought a Bighorn because that’s all I could afford.
Now I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of what can I change. I see the power convex mirrors can be had with the BSM also (thinking about adding that when I go to LED taillights). I’m trying to plan ahead so I get what is proper. For the power convex it looks like there’s just an additional button to press before pressing the L and R mirror buttons. Would it be just a direct swap of the mirrors and finding a way to add that button? I was thinking maybe even mount the button out of sight since a new door panel would be pretty expensive just to add a $16 switch.
The memory option would also be nice to swap between mirrors flipped up vs down but that seems a bit more involved than simply adding a switch. Let me hear your thoughts.

I’m guessing it’s fairly plug and play with activation in alphaobd, but not certain. I’m sure the parts are fairly pricy too.

That said, on the subject of upgrading mirrors:
1) I do really like the Power folding mirrors. It’s especially great when off road and the trail gets tight
2) boost auto parts makes plug and play heated convex mirrors. I will be adding these before next winter
3) my truck also has the auxiliary led reverse lights in the mirrors. These are nice for backing up, but unlike chevys mirror Lights they can be seen from the drivers seat if you lean over a bit... ruining your night vision. I think this might only be available with the surround view camera mirrors.

The mirrors will swap right in, and you’ll need need a custom harness for the switch to the door module, since your current door harness doesn’t have provisions for it. It is easy to dremel in the hole for the switch in the factory location, and the switch will click right in. And, of course, you’ll enable it with AlfaOBD.

To add, I’m pretty sure the power convex mirrors are only available on power folding mirrors, so if you currently don’t have power folding mirrors, you’ll need new door modules also.

While you're in here talking about mirrors, has anyone asked you about adding memory function to a truck with otherwise full feature mirrors? I'm hoping its as easy as the button panel in the door and an alpha change.

Thanks.

Definitely not that easy. The memory mirror positions are controlled by the memory seat module. You have to enable the entire memory seat features along with the mirrors, which means if you don’t have the seat module plugged into any seat motors, it will fault and keep the whole memory system from operating.

Is the seat module something addable?

Yes, but you would also have to add the driver seat frame base and back that has the memory capable motors, and regular power seat motors won’t work with the memory seat module. You also need the correct seat harness. All the necessary wiring in the body harness will be present though.

I do already have the power folding mirrors so that’s a plus. I know some mirrors have the reverse light in them without the 360 camera as I’ve seen them myself. If this did have the light would that also be an AlphaOBD setting?

Yes, two settings-
Doors: Mirror Rear Guidance Lights- YES
CustSetMenu 3: Rear Cargo Guidance Lights Enable/Disable CSM Present- YES

I guess I wasn’t really thinking it all the way through originally, if I did get the mirrors how would they actually plug into the switch?
If I remember correctly from my passive entry addition, all the wires go into the control module then a wiring harness plugs into the window control panel. Is that what you meant by custom harness? I just can’t visualize how it would work without adding wiring in to the convex mirror button.

When you buy mirrors that have power convex mirrors, the wiring is already present from the convex mirror motor to the green connector on the mirror harness, which plugs into the door module. THEN, you’ll still be missing the wiring for the convex mirror switch itself, which goes from a different connector on the door module to the switch. This wiring is part of the door harness, and is not present on trucks not equipped with power convex mirrors.

So effectively I would have to find a way to get wiring out of the door module and plug into the convex mirror switch?

Could the power convex could be connected to my auxiliary switches to enable them to be power adjusted with the regular mirror switch?
