Why I will always have my moose ears on my truck...

Boost auto Chevy style mirrors for the win. You get a properly orientated mirror without have to have the dumb Ram mirrors tipped out.
After towing with them all ram has the best mirrors in my opinion

My opinion is they look horrendous flipped up, but don't think any less of those that choose to leave em that way.

I do not flip mine out with my dump trailer, utility trailer or equipment trailer, but I do the few times a year I pull the fifth wheel. With a "normal" trailer you see down the side just fine in the standard position, but the fifth wheel is to wide across the front cap and causes a hidden area that the flipped out position will provide visual coverage of. Like some others, I do not prefer the goofy look of the mirrors flipped. It appears though that some owners enjoy the "Jumbo the elephant ears" look, and it really doesn't bother me since they bought their truck and can do whatever they want. I do think that they look goofy, but it just isn't my problem. Maybe young redneck chicks dig those floppy looking ears?

Gotta love 1st world problems.....
Amen. I seriously don't know why this is such a thing. Best thing I've seen someone say on this: Take over my payments and you can tell me what to do with my mirrors.

Everyone has different styles, needs, and even comfort levels with how they feel most safe re: the mirror setup. If I had power adjustable convex, yeah, I'd fold 'em down. I don't currently, so they're up. I can see behind me and on my sides far better than with them rotated up. They do power fold, so I pull them in when I park. Judge me I guess.

You will never see me driving my truck with the mirrors folded out unless I am towing and need them. To me, that is why they are called tow mirrors.

My best friend, on the other hand, drives with his out all the time.

To each their own.

My thoughts as well, I only use the tow mirrors when I actually tow, novel concept I know.

Lots of narrow roads in town here. Pulled up next to a guy last weekend at a light that probably had 6" or so of tire sticking out past his fenders and had his tow mirrors out for his invisible trailer. My mirror tapped his when I pulled up next to him at the light. I knew it was going to touch. He laughed and asked me for my phone #.....

True story....except the phone # part haha.

lmao

It's not contagious is it? Did your truck instantly grow 4" wheel spacers?

Describes 99% of the "bro-dozer" crowd around here......

I stopped folding my tow mirrors down after towing - it was pain in the arse to adjust the mirrors again for towing. I leave them up all the time - those who do not like it have commuter HD diesels I guess. I traded my SRW for a dually and I really prefer them up even more now to see past the huge booty - only complaint is utility trailers are hard to see behind the dually.

Since we got our travel trailer out this year, I haven't flipped mine back down. With the mirrors up I find it easier to use the spotter for backing into spots and checking blind spots(not that it's hard to see other vehicles if you just turn your head). I do remember thinking the view down the trailer with the mirrors flipped up wasn't as great as I had hoped it would be.
When we take our long trip this year I may try driving for a little bit with them flipped down to see if I will like that better.

As my ram is my DD, I was trying to come up with some snarky sticker to make but haven't decided on anything yet.

This is why I hate the design of the RAM tow mirrors. Ford has the best tow mirrors. They are larger and you simply slide them out. The arms have a very slight curve to them so they mirrors keep their perspective well. Then it is a minimal adjustment from when they are slid in. They look better from an aesthetic as well.

Of course this is simply my opinion having experience with both Ford and RAM.

I also do not like the mirrors in the folded down position. I think the tow mirrors do look less offensive if your trucks wheel & tire set up sticks out a bit and you have the truck lifted or leveled atleast.

This, all day.

Guess I'll have crap mirrors for awhile then.... Maybe I can spring for the level when these garbage tires wear out and I go to 35s. Then, I'll get my visibility back!

Moose mode looks at home on lifted/leveled/aggressive HDs. Look like clown ears on stock with pie cutters. Dunno why, just does.

EDIT: Also, you can tell who has a lot of seat time in Class 8 rigs and who doesn't here. Anyone that thinks the visibility in the folded down mirrors is good must just backup by camera only. Pure garbage. I'm still in my 30s and moose mode > all. That's coming from someone that has more miles driving Class 8 dumps backwards than most of you youngins have going forward in your low pro mirror trucks :D
