Thank you! This is a tradesman also and also had chrome bumpers and grille surround. The place I take my trucks to explained that over chrome, you have to scuff it real good and then use an epoxy primer before the regular primer to get it to hold up. So far so good!Very nice!! Did you sand blast then paint, on the bumpers?? I’ve gone back and Forth but my grill is all chrome on the tradesman
I bought what I could afford at the time and now saving money and add on what I want. To me it makes perfect sense.Don’t get me wrong, I love modding my truck to get it exactly how I want it. But wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a truck closer to what you want feature wise and roll those costs into the payment over time rather than trying to retrofit it all in and having to pay cash now for the upgrades?

It does but I bought my truck in February this year and there is a huge shortage of trucks in my area right now. The ones that I could find that had the stuff I wanted were diesels and I not only tow a boat that weighs only like 3000 pounds, but I also need the heavy payload capacity that a gas engine truck affords. The diesels are heavier so it takes away from the payload capacity. I had a 2019 F-350 diesel and while it was a nice truck, I was using it anywhere near its capacity. I do a lot of short drives and that's not good for diesel longevity not to mention all the costly maintenance. The other trucks that had what I wanted were limited trim but I work my truck and get in with dirty work clothes so I didn't want to pay that much just to trash it. I am actually having fun with doing the mods and I have a buddy that owns a shop so I get pretty good rates for the stuff that I cant do. The whole job of the color matching of the bumpers including removal and assembly labor, painting, materials, everything only costed me $550. After I do all those mods, I will still have the payment of a Tradesman and will still have saved a good amount of money.Don’t get me wrong, I love modding my truck to get it exactly how I want it. About $5000. The 12.1" screen radio was the real expense, it cost me $3600 from Infotainment.com. I could have been much cheaper than that if the Apple carplay on my stock 8.4" worked well but when my phone lost reception, i was screwed when using phone as GPS. When I trade this truck in though, I plan on taking my add on's with me for the next one so that wont be so bad. Time wise, I have probably 5 hours wrapped up into the labor with the exception of painting the bumpers and grille surround, I had to have a shop do that part for me.What did it cost for all those "add ons" and how much time to "add them" ?
