2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Hopefully this 2% increase doesn’t turn out to be true. For that price, I expect a 10 speed Allison or whatever in addition to the UC5 and birds eye trailer camera. However, I don’t think we’re likely to get the 10 speed based on what I’ve read on this forum (I’d gladly pay that 2% for it tho).
For what it’s worth, a local dealer in Northern California told me to only expect a $200-$300 dollar increase for 2022. So ... they may really just have no idea.
I think a 2% increase is pretty high. If I'm not mistaken the range of increase I've seen in the past has been around $300-$500. Who knows what this year will bring.

Near the end of the 2021 modes, they bumped the base model up $400. Was hoping that was just an early bump for 2022.

This is the truck that I am wanting to order. I had to go with the Limited to be able to get the Maximum Steel Metallic with the Night package. Once I went that way there are only two other options that I am adding to it.

2500 Crew Cab Limited
Maximum Steel Metallic
Night edition
6.7 Diesel
Deployable bed step
Snow Chief group ** see below

I have a local dealer and one out of town who both will sell the truck for invoice plus $1k but I still feel there could be a better deal had. Will check with Mark Dodge today

** This package adds the following features, all of which I wanted anyway, anti spin diff, clearance lights, transfer case skid shield, aux switches and 220a alternator. Basically $1100 worth of upgrades for only $655. Just not sure what else changes with snow group. Anyone know?

For rough numbers, you can take MSRP and deduct 11.5%. That’ll be close to the Mark Dodge price. For more accuracy, use Costcoauto.com and configure a 2021 Ram with the options you want. Then take the invoice price and multiply it by .945. That would be their 2021 pricing.
Edit: I couldn’t find the Power deployable steps, but with the other options it would be $69k-ish from Mark Dodge I think. Add in those steps, probably 69,700 or so (2021 pricing).

Just be aware that if you get the 2500 Limited with Diesel, you'll have a pretty abysmal payload based on door stickers I've seen. If that's not important, then have at it :) Just wanted to point that out before you pull the trigger. I personally wouldn't pay $10k for a diesel in a truck that doesn't allow me to really get the benefit.

For a 2500 configured like you mentioned, invoice price on left and MSRP on right. Mark Dodge price would probably be about $69,264

Surf2Snow1, thanks for the numbers to use. Do you by chance have the contact info for Sandi at Mark? I tried to call but they said she was out. I left a message for another sales person but of course never heard back...

RAM_Dad, thanks for the math, I came up with the same numbers! I would like you to explain the payload limitations and what caused them to be minimal on the truck that I have now configured. Any idea what option may have changed that? Still new to all of this and figuring it out and I would really hate to figure it out on the side of the freeway by being pulled over.

Thanks again!

Shoot an email to [email protected] and he'll either help you or put you in touch with Sandi.

Payload on the 2500s suffer when configured with the Cummins. It adds about 800lbs, so you lose 800 lbs of payload. The HEMI is going to be sufficient in 90% of the use cases for the 2500. If you need to tow heavy (probably >12k or so), then consider the 3500 with Cummins.

Based on door jamb stickers I've seen, expect 1700-2200 lbs of payload on a limited with Cummins. Thats marginally better than some half tons. My 2015 F150 with the 2.7l had over 1500 lbs

Closer to 2500-3000lbs with HEMI.

Thats going to be a great truck. But I have to ask, with all the options you have on it, why not just go with a Limited and be done?
When I priced the Limited it came out a few thousand more than the Laramie. Must be the premium filigree leather seats!

And our family needs the bench seat for 7 more years.
I thought the bench seat in front was a good idea. My wife nixed it. We are used to piling extra kids in our Pilot. I guess with the 3500 they'll just have to ride the Texas way: on lawn chairs in the bed of the truck. ;-)

We went from an Odyssey EX-L that had 8 seats to the Big Horn with 5 seats. It is what it is, I have my spot in the truck.

If you are looking to order in Florida, I highly recommend Mike at Lakeland Ram.

So the reason I had to go to the Limited was the fact that I wanted Maximum Steel in a Night Edition and for whatever reason I could not build it in a Laramie, just a Limited. When I built the Laramie in a different color, Granite Crystal Metallic, I was able to get the Night Edition but with all of the options I wanted it was within about $1100 of a Limited so the extra $ gets me the color I want, some extra features and supposedly nicer interior appointments so I think it will be worth it. And at the amount I am going to be spending an extra $1100 won't be life changing

Yeah and if you just go by the dealer motto which is, "what would you like your payments to be" lol........ But in all seriousness I do think its an awesome truck and when you see prices of used trucks right now I totally believe its worth buying new.

ZOption, can tell me more about the deal you were able to secure from Mike at Lakeland and his responsiveness? Honestly, I emailed him twice over the past two weeks and called on Friday but never got a response on my inquiry for a factory order.

It's not supposed. The Premium Leather Limited seats are real leather and a big step up. You also get leather dash and trim and the directional LED Projector lights. Wood/Leather steering wheel.

If you got into it for only $1,100 more, you did good. The seating and lights are worth it.
