Third Brake Light Question

I want to replace my third brake light with a smoke/black colored brake light and LED lights. I have not found one for a 2019 but have seen plenty for 2018 and below. If the cabs are the same for the 4.5 and the 4th gen could I buy one made for a 2018? I have all halogen lights and no bed camera. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, I did come across some OEM options. I guess I should have led with I didn't want to spend a whole lot. I love the look of the factory light but $350 is hard to justify for me. Thanks though.
 
Looking at part numbers for RECON there is a difference between the 18 and 19. They do not appear to have anything for the 19+ HD's yet. AnzoUSA is not listing anything. Might need to look into a lens tint from a spray can. Keep in mind there are different brands with different properties. VHT NiteShade will not come off leaving an oem lens again where Rustoleum will.

Thought about going that route. I don't understand how if the cabs are the same why they wouldn't fit. Maybe the connectors are different or these companies have done the research just yet?

If you look at Recon's website it shows 09-19 for the 1500 but 10-18 for the 2500/3500. I suspect they are all the DS "Classic" body and not the newer DT sheetmetal. Unless you have a camera in the third brake lamp you can pick up a new unit (PN 68412024AA) for about $45 online.

Considering how things have been this year many R&D departments scaled back on creating parts. While those who did have found difficulties getting materials to manufacture them. Multinational companies which can't even get raw materials for the sub-components to be assembled as a result of shut downs and restrictions.

Any 4th gen CHMSL will fit a 2019+ HD Ram. I currently have a 2020 HD Ram part number CHMSL with cargo cam installed on my 2017 4th gen.

This is what I wanted to know, thank you. Thinking of pulling the trigger on a LED chmsl, worst case it doesn't fit and I return it. I'm guessing if it worked for you then it should also work in reverse from an 18 to a 19.

Did you have any luck fitting a LED light?
 
Dude just smoke the factory one out with vinyl or VHT nightshade. I have also had really good luck with model car window tint spray paint by testors with a clear coat after. They also sell led bulbs and painters tape to make all this happen

I haven't researched the myriad of LED bulbs to see what works and what doesn't. There are lots of junk LED bulbs out there.

I'm just trying to get a brighter high cargo light so I can see better to hitch up 5th wheels in the dark.
