Diesel oil gets black fast nothing wrong there...after only 1,000 miles it looks like this?
Brand new 3500, my first diesel. Is it normal for the oil to be so dark after only 1,000 miles or so? In my 18 Sport the oil would look clean for the longest time...
Thats kinda what I was thinking, but wanted to make sure...thanks!Diesel oil gets black fast nothing wrong there
WOW, did you not get them to re change it? Im changing mine next week at 3,000 miles for the first time. Are there any grease fittings?I pulled the dipstick at the dealer after first free oil change to make sure they didn't over fill it , the oil was black with 0 miles and 5 mins of idle time, I questioned it ,they said it was normal and offered to change it again.. it was only at 3500 miles.. ill change it at 5000 or so myself to be sure..

No,didn't want them to touch it..it was also at the same spot on the dipstick as when I took it in.( just above the safe line)WOW, did you not get them to re change it? Im changing mine next week at 3,000 miles for the first time. Are there any grease fittings?
Every diesel I've owned back to 99, before the egr ,the oil woud be black after 1000 miles. You can thank the EGR system for your dirty oil.
No thats not from the egr lmaoYou can thank the EGR system for your dirty oil.
Really? No thats not from the egr lmao
Diesels have been like that long before egr was a thing....Really?
It does contribute a touch but my 01 would be black right after starting it first time after the oil changeMy ’01 stayed clean for long time after oil change..not like these later models. Just figured re-burning exhaust gas would have contributed.
