So I've always been paranoid with this truck and my last truck that I would accidently open the tailgate from the fob when I actually meant to activate the remote start. If I did this at the wrong time my tailgate could open and slam against my garage door or anything else I'm backed up against (like a pole). Less likely, but also a possibility if the button got accidently tapped twice while in my pocket as I'm doing physical stuff. I've had the panic button go off a few times like this.
There doesn't seem to be a way to disable the fob or overhead console buttons through AlfaOBD. So, I opened up my key fob and put a dap of gorilla glue on the circuit board and I cut the button pad off the back of the button. This should make it very unlikely the the tailgate can be opened via the fob.
I might undo the harness for the overhead console button too.
Glue is on the bottom right button of circuit board.

Cut the rubber pad off the back of the button using a straight razor.
