75A with Mopar Power Deploy Running Boards?

Anyone know if I can get (from the factory, if I order a 75A PW) the power deplorable running boards that come on the 2500 Limited INSTEAD OF the rock sliders? I test drove a 75A this weekend and loved it, but the rock sliders are too high, no way my wife would be happy about getting into the truck (let alone my toddler). I don’t need sliders (I might regret that one day), so I’d love to order a 75A PW with the power deploy boards instead. Anyone done it?

(Yea, I know I can put in AMP, but I want it all factory)

Not a factory option on a power wagon.

Bummer. Anyone tried to get the factory Mopar part and install it? Saw a thread where someone speculated that the rock sliders had the same mounting holes as the non-PW 2500 so perhaps it’s a straight bolt-on (plus wiring harness & some computer coding).

This is pretty much my situation. Dreading my wife’s first attempt to climb in. Won’t be happy lol.

At this time there is no "kit" to add it after the fact but you could piece it together. Looks like the biggest issue would be making a wiring harness. I'm sure they will come out with a kit at some point though.

I've been told the Amp Extreme boards will not fit 2500\3500 gas model. I dont know why that is? RBP boards are not an option, they are moving their factory over seas and wont start production again until next year.

Does anyone have more info on why the Dual motor Amp boards wont work on the gas model? or what has to be done to make them work?

I like the idea of the stock boards, but it feels like more work that im willing to put into getting them installed. Plus I've read they are really slow? I had slow boards on a ford a few years back and it drove me crazy.

I "think" there is some sort of vibration damper mounted on the gas trucks that gets in the way but don't quote me on that.

With that said, I have never had an issue with my standard Amp steps with a single motor so not sure the extreme with dual motors buys you much? If one motor fails they won't work the only thing it does is give you a little extra torque to lift them. Maybe if you plan on getting buried up to the frame in mud and still want them to work it may be a benefit?

My thinking was being in NY with all the salt and crap. That the extra motor would help? Maybe its just in my head. Does the end of your boards without the motor sag down? I was set to buy the RBP boards... Then found out you cant find any and that they stopped making them for right now.

No sag what so ever. The motor has nothing to do with holding the boards, it simply turns the gears to raise and lower them. The only thing I can see the second motor doing is help lifting it if it was covered in mud and had extra weight on it. But then it may not close anyway because the mud would block it from completely retracting. And like I said, if 1 of the 2 motors fails they will not work so it's not like it's a "back up".

Thanks for the info, how long have you had your boards? And do you have the led lights with yours?

I too was looking at the AMP and RBP boards with the dual motors. But then got to asking myself if I really needed the extra motor.

I have a set on the wife's '04 Chevy for about 4 years now and never had an issue.
I have a set on my '01 Ford for over a year and still no issues.

They are warranted, I'm not sure how long the warranty is.
I've heard that people have had great service from the company when they have had issues.

There is a thread on the forms about the AMP steps with 2 motors. Not sure if AMP finally fixed the issue. Forum member reclocked the front motor on the passenger side to fix the interference issue on his install.

Looks like that was the RBP boards? Wonder if the same trick would work on the AMP boards. But now im second guessing if i even need the 2nd motors. Or is my usual overbuild everything mentality getting in the way...

I've had them on my truck for about a year and a half? Also have a set on my wife's jeep that I just put on as well. Yes, they all come with lights.
I have to say though, you are probably in the worst environment for anything like this with the salt they throw down on the roads. I would make sure you keep them clean as you can, that crap destroys everything it touches in no time.

I had Amps with a single motor for 13 yrs on my 07 Ram. Never had a problem. I went with single motor again on my 2020 (Cummins).

I had the normal (single motor) Amp Research steps installed 2 weeks ago on my 75a. Absolutely love them! My wife is 5' and struggled climbing up with the rock sliders. It's obviously early on, but I've had no issues so far. A good friend of mine installed them on his 2019 Rebel 3 yrs ago and loves them as well.

That said, the Extreme steps will work on the 75a. I was told the Extreme steps were designed for folks in the North or in Extreme areas that might need additional power pushing/pulling the boards.

I can grab the part number from my receipt if anyone wants/needs it.

Please post the part number that you used. Thanks!

I just ordered a set of the AMP steps from Ebay. $1499 + tax shipped to the door. They say 4 day shipping.

No big deal as I'm still waiting for my truck to ship as well. Its built, just waiting on a shipping date.
