I tried going to the dealer but they said they looked but there isn’t a way to adjust the setting to see what gear your in. Does anyone have a 2021 6.7 and has been able to have their dealer fix this?

my 2021 is on order and due in Feb 21, so I cannot speak to the 2021, however my father in law has a 2020 6.7 and had no gear indicator visible. But he found a way to make his show up on the screen. Believe it or not, he found the answer in the manual. He was like, “Man there is a lot to read about on these trucks!” Rough problem to have. Hahaha. Check your glove box Bro.
: )
The manual indicates this is available, but the option isn't showing up in the EVIC setup until enabled by AlfaOBD.
Many have tried, all have failed. Dealer's were asked to enable it and failed (dumbfounded).
Let us know if you find a way to turn it on, I'm sure there are many that don't own AlfaOBD that would be interested. Bro.
Only issue i have with this method is when plowing i like to have it displayed and going from drive to reverse and back to drive you have to re do it everytimeIt sounds like maybe some are wanting to do this without using the gear limiter? But if you are willing to use the gear limit paddles this is how I do it on my new 2021. I think the steps are press the gear + on the steering wheel and then in the instrument display, to the right of the Park Reverse etc. show up 2 numbers. The one on the right is the gear it is limited to and the one on the left is the gear it is currently in. If that is all you do, then the truck will use all gears normally and show a 6 for the right side number and whatever gear you are in on the left. So when starting from stop, the left number will cycle up to 6 as it shifts. The right number just stays on 6, or if you limit it to a lower gear, whatever gear it is limited to. The only thing I have not seen is an indicator or locked or unlocked torque converter.

lol you always should plow in tow/haul its not an issue what gear its in i just like to know what gear its in... i just gave the other guy an example of why hitting the gear selector is not always the best way about it.... ram should have it available i guess one of these days ill have to get alfaobdI don’t know if it would help, but try Tow/Haul mode when plowing. It will hold the gears longer and might help what your looking for. I definitely could see how having to hit the gear selector after each shift would get old, especially since you probably only want maybe 2nd or 3rd gear max. Maybe the tow mode would work?

I use iphone aswell but i am ordering alfa for my windows laptopHahaha..... got ya. Sorry. I understand. I’ve only had my new 3500 a week. I have not seen anywhere in the book or settings to make it on all the time without hitting the minus symbol first. I want alphaobd to set up fog lights to work with high beams too. But I use iPhone, so I got to find someone else to help on that one.
Good to know. Thanks! With Windows version you can enable this. Works on my 2021.
