I wish to add an auxiliary tank in my '21 2500 Laramie SB 6.7l, while also adding a fifth wheel to my OEM pucks. Anyone else successful in this? I know the SB should have a 5W slider, which may limit the size of the tank. We plan to extensively travel the US with a 5W Glamper that sleeps 4-5. I've read extensively about brands for both the tank and 5W, but haven't seen much about those that added both. For the price I'm seeing for replacing the factory 31l tank adding an AUX tank seems to be more bang for the buck. Many thanks for your input.

I added a 40 gallon dee zee tank with a gravity feed kit in my 19 ccsb. I tow with an anderson hitch so I don't know how it would fit with a slider in the bed.

I have a Transfer Flow 50 gallon with the auto controller and it works great. I tow a 44’ 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer with no problem.

This is pretty common. Most manufactures have a Tank to work with 5th wheels. Titan, Transferflow, S&B, Fuelbox and others. My Titan is controlled by a controller in the cab and I have it set to pump about 10-12 gallons each time I push the button. Once I am about half a tan k I will start pumping fuel and it will give me just under the FULL mark.

I now guys use the gravity fed with no issues but there are some shops that will not install them due to DOT regulations and or they have had issues with them overflowing out the filler/vent tube and you wake up to diesel all over the ground. Having them work correctly I think depends on the install and the truck.

I do not use a 5th wheel but I do use the B&W gooose neck.

I would recommend that any auxiliary tank, and anything attached to it, remain below the top of the bed. That is one less obstacle to contact the trailer when a tight turn is needed. I do not see any issues adding most 40 gallon auxilary tanks in the bed. The 50 gallon tanks are taller than the bed rails.

The Titan tank I have is a 50 gallon. It sits below the bed rails. I think transferflow makes one also to fit below the rails...

I was looking at 50 gallon tanks from multiple manufacturers. Thanks for the info.

Thanks. I'm on the fence about gravity fed models. A well planned install seems to be the main step to success with those. I'd be more comfortable with a controller.

Got it, thanks!

Ya the pump fed make me more at ease for sure...when the truck is off the flow is off.

How difficult is it to remove the tranfer flow tank. Would like to load my cab over once in awhile.

They are bolted to the bed - then you would have to disconnect he fuel and pump lines. Not hard but not something I would want to do on a regular basis.

Maybe a 50 gallon tank (if you dont already have one) to replace your OEM tank would be a better option.

Depends on the setup but i set my 100 gallon up to be quick release i use quick connect fittings and just strap the tank in with a board in place.... here is a picture after i weleded and test fit i still need to paint it but for now its well strapped in place
