I read the posts about people getting stuck or spinning out on wet pavement and them not being true off road tires, but are they that bad for just mostly highway use?
The Transfarce A/T are mediocre tires. They have their place (rolling the truck off the assembly lineI read the posts about people getting stuck or spinning out on wet pavement and them not being true off road tires, but are they that bad for just mostly highway use?
Every brand does thatWhen we picked up our truck from the dealer it had snowed earlier in the day. Now the roads had been plowed just not down to pavement in some places. Those tire were slipping and sliding all over the place. Within the week I replaced them with a set of Continental TerrainContact AT's and have driven securely ever sense. To me this is a safely issue. Why Ram continues to put such crappy tires on such and expensive truck is a question I would love for them to answer.
I tried to keep em but at 9500km the backs were 1/2 bald from towingThey are mediocre OEM tires and are 'ok'.
I've had zero issues towing, or on the road, in the heavy rain (I live in Flori-duh) and on light back roads... I only got stuck one in some sugar sand.
I have no plans at the moment to change them out... once they wear out, I'll find something else.
Honestly, if you don't like them, just replace them... I think most try to rationalize getting rid of them for other tires.
I like the white letters out give some separation from a black truck with black tires. White letters out? Really? What is this?
I have a buddy with a 2019 F250 who swears by them. He pulled his stock tires off (not sure what they were) and put the transforce Firestones on them.
He took off exceptional (for highway tires) Michelin Defender LTX so he could put on Transcraps?!?
Mother of Pearl...
When my truck was parked at the dealer, they had it on some grass instead of on the paved lot. Though it was December, the ground was not entirely frozen yet. It 2wd it struggled to get through that grass, spraying mud behind it like crazy. I took off those factory transforce tires asap, and was able to sell them for $600 with only 200 miles on them.
Crap sights on a crap gun...I don’t mind the factory shipping them with cheap tires. That way I can buy the tires I actually want without paying more for the truck up front. Same reason I’m glad glocks come with crappy plastic sights.
Shoot. If the wife says you need new tires then they must be really bad!So typically I would dump the stock tires as soon as I could, but with this truck I decided to wear the tires down a bit before doing so. Just got back from a 10 day trip towing our 7,000lb trailer, on day two we pulled into a spot in the Eastern Sierra and these tires spun like crazy a few times on different types of terrain. Wife says "these things are outta here, find new tires!". Never heard that one before! Trying to figure out which tires as we speak, need a decent A/T that tows well. Decisions.
