I have a 2020 6.7 that I recently converted to LED tails with the blind spot sensor.

I’ve updated the tail light harness for both sides as well as added a wiring harness underneath truck on driver side to connect to my CAN IHS block that enables blind spot.

Everything works perfectly except I can’t get this message to go away. Every time I turn on my truck this message appears and no matter what I do with the steering wheel arrows it won’t let me select an option or exit the screen to go back to my Home Screen.

Need help.

There may be some settings that need to be enabled with AlfaOBD?

So hers the skinny, I've been doing this since wk 1 and posted it somewhere but these things can get jumbled up and lost so here we go. Blind spot monitoring. I have a 35' fiver, yes when you hook up and get in it asked you wich trailer type. Early on I wondered what would happen if I clicked on conventional instead of fiver/goose, would the brakes work the same, would the bsm work? Its great do it. I've got mine set on conventional max trailer. If so nobody is coming up on my rt side or I'm passing someone , the little blind spot arrow comes on in the mirror exactlly when there at my rvs rear bumper and has been very reliable for when I pass people so I know that I'm cleared them so I can get over. Now, a little less acurate is the drivers side. The bsm arrow in mirror will never chime on until there 10' up the side of the rv, so not the full length wich is unfortunate but still helps out earlier than just truck. Drivers side is not as important to me as passenger side while making maneuvers. Brakes work the same as other settings. I select conventional every time i hook up my fiver, it definitly helps offset the no camera on rear of trailer in u connect

it won’t let me select either. It only lets me go up or down. However when I drive, even though the message is there, my blindspot functions perfectly when a vehicle is close and I try to switch lanes in either direction.

I’m looking and looking to no avail. The only downside to this is I can’t use my EVIC to see other menus. It’s stuck on that menu.

Did you enable Trailer blind spot in Alfa? Maybe try disabling it? It's weird i thought that was only supposed to show up when a trailer is hooked up. Is the new tail light harness custom or is it a Mopar part. Maybe there's a pin out of place in the harness making the truck think it's hooked up to a trailer?

I’m gonna re go through all my Alfa settings. My neighbor was kind enough to let me download all of his settings in Alfa. I’m going to download mine and compare. He has a 2020 Larime that’s loaded with blindspot as well.

Jimmy built my harness. So it’s custom. I trust him though. We can double check the harness but I don’t think that’s it.

I have blind spot monitor on my 19 Tradesman. I can send you an Alfa log for you to compare to and see if that helps. Mine does not have support for trailer blind spot though. PM your email and I'll send it when I get home.

@nick00less was this issue ever resolved?
I was actually helping him work through this (built the adapter harness for him to add blind spot). It ended up being the blind spot radars in the tail lights. His truck is (I should say was, if you follow him on the other forum) a 2020. The tails he installed were from a 2019, which were not capable of the trailer length blind spot feature introduced for the 2020s. The radars are different part numbers for the 2019s vs 2020+, causing the issue he has with the EVIC. So in short, 2020-2021 trucks can’t use tail lights with blind spot part numbers for a 2019.

Well there you have it folks, once again when you put the "Tech Swami" on the case it always ends up... PROBLEM SOLVED!!!

Would you happen to have the part number for the sensors for MY2021?

Thanks Jimmy07 - I am considering upgrading from halogen to LED tail lights on my 2021. As I understand it I would require 2020 or 2021 LED tail lights, adapters for both tail lights to plug into factory harness, changes via AlfaOBD and a separate custom harness to enable the trailer length blind spot?

And if this does require a custom harness - does it plug in under the dash and where exactly?
Yes, you would need the tail lights, 2 tail light jumper harnesses that replace your existing ones (one for each side)- part number 68396013AB.
In all trucks I’ve seen so far, all the blind spot wiring is present in the left chassis harness and rear chassis harness, but not present from the last connector where the wires enter the cab. The harness I build adds those wires that populate into this connector behind the wheel well liner-

From there, it goes through the firewall with two connectors that plug into the green/white canbus junction block (one of the same blocks you plug the bypass harness into). I haven’t laid eyes on a regular cab yet, but I would probably have you verify wiring on a connector under the bed by the spare tire.
For fully functional blind spot monitoring, you would also swap out the exterior mirrors glass (big mirror glass itself, not the whole exterior mirror) for the ones that have the indicator.

A couple of questions to clarify, Jimmy, as I'm pretty certain I'll be doing this very soon:

Would I need EITHER the two 68396013AB harnesses OR your custom harness, or is it BOTH the two factory jumpers plus your harness? For the replacement glass, is there any additional wiring? I believe there are only the two spade terminals for the heating element, or am I missing something?

I'm struggling to find OEM part numbers for the glass, but I believe the part numbers for the tail lights in question are 68446839AE and 68446838AE ?

You would need both- the two factory jumper harnesses to replace your existing ones, and the custom harness.
Those are the correct part numbers for red LED tails with blind spot monitors. Black would be 40 and 41AE as the last four.
And, yes, if replacing the mirror glass, you need two wires that go from the glass indicator to the door module.

Thank you sir.

Do you happen to know the part numbers for the glass with both defrost and the blind spot indicator? The two wires to the door module, are they simply spade connectors like the heater? I've never had the door panels off so I don't know what sort of arrangement to expect. Additionally, I'm considering adding the proximity unlock door handles; is there anything I should be considering for that? I figure if I'm going to do it, I might as well do it all at once.

When you have time, please send me a PM with pricing for the custom harness.
