question for you gurus

I have an ongoing suspicion that my truck was ordered by someone and then not purchased by them. It was oddly optioned, but dang neat exactly what I would have ordered

anyway, is there a way to tell if it was ordered or if it was just dealer stock? Any markings on the window sticker etc?

I think the build sheet would say 'Sold Order' near the bottom.

Put your VIN at the end of this link and see if it is still available.

My paper window sticker also has at the top "This vehicle was built especially for" with my name that I supplied when I ordered.

Additionally, when I view the Build Sheet Servlet, the 8th to last line states "Sold Vehicle" which I was told meant it was ordered (versus those I've checked on dealer lots stating "Sales Tracking").

Either way would be a win though. You said it’s optioned the way you want so at least it seems there are dealers that know how to order trucks to appeal to buyers

Sometimes it happens! I found mine couple weeks ago with every option I could have asked for, took me out there and it even had the w2w boards and molar bed liner. Sometimes we get lucky haha

Thanks guys.
I guess my hunch was wrong

looks like it was just a normal dealer inventory truck as far as I can tell
Mine is the same it has some odd options but the dealer ordered it as the was 7 trucks of various colors at the dealer when i bought mine all the exact same options i got the last one that was not spoken for. I asked why they were optioned like such and they said they just clicked a bunch of stuff lol.... noticed mine was one of the last 19s to roll out of the plant

A dealer can, and hopefully not get caught, order a truck for stock using a previous customer name. that way they can get items that are blocked for dealer stock but not sold orders and possibly why its well equipped. When the vehicle arrives, yes the window sticker would have the name of the person it was ordered for, but the dealer can easily order a new window sticker and put it on his lot. Regardless, as mentioned you got what you want...thats a good day!!

Ok now you have done it. You woke up that little part of my ’’truck buying brain’’ that my wife likes to keep buried waaay at the back of my skull. o_O What options does she have please.

My vehicle was just that. The window sticker says built especially for some guy named Lars lol. But I got a good deal on it and it has everything I need.

It’s not that is has any one option in particular that is so special. It’s just set up a bit different than others. I looked at about 8 or 9 tradesman trucks and they were pretty much all the same. One might have tow hooks and another might have cab lights.

my truck has Tman level 2, 8.4” u connect, cab, lights, tow hooks, skid plates but not Offroad package so it has the manual shift case. It is also a low volume color px8 (build sheet just calls it low vol black) and black interior. Pretty much the exact truck I would want.

It also has gooseneck prep and trailer camera prep but no tow mirrors.

It is just a combination I had never seen in the trucks I looked at. I didn’t see any other Tman trucks with 8.4 and I had a hard time finding any with both cab lights and tow hooks
