2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

Ordered fully loaded HO 3500 with Night package and all options on 12/21/20. Sounds like went to shipping last week. Dealer told me yesterday they are hoping to have by the end of this week or next week. FYI, if you are getting all the options, there will be delays. Mine sat for about a month waiting on parts at the plant. But at the finish line now!

My dealer is telling me the same thing. Says Blind Spot and Spray-In Liner is holding things up.
Ordered Jan. 28 and only have a VON at this point. On the fence about dropping the two options
to get a quicker delivery.
I don't even care about the Blind Spot detection, however it was included in the packages I wanted. I do not believe that the Spray In Bed Liner held up my truck at all. It shipped out of the factory less than a week after it was built and it went to the body shop prior to shipping.

Just received email from my salesman that they are expecting to receive my truck tonight - 9 weeks to the day from order date. Hope all the holdups for too many others on this forum get cleared--especially our Canadian friends! I'll post pics when I pick it up tomorrow or Thursday.

Wow. We ordered same day. Still no build sheet here.

Yeah, not sure why mine sailed through. It's got the bed utility group and blind spot detection (at least the Window Sticker says it does) that seem to be giving others problems. Go figure . . .

Wow thats pretty fast!

I wonder how much of the descrepancy between order date and receive date is because of the dealers allocation for HD trucks. Basically if you sell more you get more, and smaller dealers might have a hard time getting allocated another truck order if they are over their allotment for trucks. They might have to sell more of other vehicles before the order is accepted for build.

So I chatted with RamChat on Friday and they stated that my truck was in the same state for 43 days now and would escalate my order and gave me a case #.

I received an email today from FCA stating: "At this present time, your vehicle is built pending installation of additional features or optional equipment."

I asked what it was waiting on, no response yet but I post about it if I can find out what it is. Makes sense that I have the build sheet but no Window Sticker yet.

UGH
Does this look familiar?

"At this present time, your vehicle is built pending installation of additional features or optional equipment. I have reached out to our factory resources to ensure your order is prioritized for production and hope to have additional updates to share with you soon."

Six months and one week since my initial order, though this is the second truck since the first was built incorrectly back in December. Rattled the cage as best I could, though I'm not hopeful there will be any useful information.

This allocation thing keeps coming up when I talk to my dealer. Anybody know how it works? Is a dealer only able to order so many of a certain item
according to past sales?

Yep, exactly that! My sales guy also mentioned he thinks it is the Blind Spot chip issue but can't say for sure.

What I have found is that when your truck is in production all the way up to when it gets on the train, you can use Ram Chat and get status updates. After it makes it on the train, then you have to engage your dealer. I have attached a photo that my salesman sent me yesterday of what shows in their system for tracking.
There are a few lucky people that had their dealers/salesman stay engaged through the whole process.

That's correct and my dealer just sent me the same thing this morning :)

Mine opts to be disengaged.....just gives the same general timeframe that RamChat has.

I think each manufacturer is a little bit different, but it could be a couple of things. Dealers that have a history of larger volumes of sales get more allotment, but it also may have to do with the mix of vehicles. Perhaps a dealer has to sell a mix of x% 1500s, y% HDs and z% Vans. If they have sold/ordered too many HDs, they may need to sell some more 1500s/Vans before they get another HD. It could also be based upon trims where they have to sell some Limited trucks before they get another Laramie.

In the extreme there are trucks like the TRX where each dealer will get a set allotment based upon some manufacturer formula. The dealer can try and order as many TRXs as they want, but they will only get their allotment.

This is all just a guess on my part based upon what I have read in the past.

I think our trucks are probably sitting next to each other somewhere. My ETA to dealership in MD shifted back 4 days (now 4/20-5/4 from 4/16-4/30)

3 days ago mine was sitting in "Piedras Negras", waiting on a reply from the manager to see if there are any updates today.
Yep, probably on the same boat!! Will let you know if I hear anything new. Please do same....

My salesman has been really good throughout this whole process, giving me weekly updates the whole time. Reading on this forum has helped me a ton too!

In fact, I just heard from my salesman that my truck is at the railyard here (CO) and should be at the dealer sometime next week! It shipped way faster than I was anticipating.

I'll post pictures once I take delivery. Good luck to all those waiting, I'm sure it will be worth it!

How often have folks encountered an unwanted change to the order? Is there an authoritative site or reference?

For example:
1. Adaptive Steering - LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning Plus(19) — Includes Adaptive Steering System (included with Safety or
M1 Groups) (LAS)
2. Center Stop Lamp with Cargo View Camera included in Towing Technology Package per brochure).

Now ramtrucks.com doesn't state what is included in the Safety Group B, and Adaptive Steering / Cargo Camera are optional add ons.
