All you needed was to have the dealer program a 5 button fob to the truck and add the tailgate damper. Tailgate release is already coded in the computer. Lots of folks on here have done it.

Well darn it!! Too late now for me... truck has a VIN assigned and is being built.

I’m sorry, do you have a link to a thread about this? I can’t seem to fine anything last 2019 for adding the function. I already have the strut. Are you saying all I need to do is purchase a new key from the dealer?

Start at post #14. All you need is a new fob withe the tailgate release button on it and have it programmed by a dealer. No need for them to add the sales code.

I prefer cloth instead of leather, cloth are also more durable compared to leather.
