Some of these packages when doing a build do not make sense

In case you read the post about the different instrument clusters, I thought I would expand a little. Playing around and doing some buildings, these do not add up. In the example below for a Big Horn build, it allows you to add both the Level B equipment group and the Safety Group B and adds the total price of $7290 to the build. Why does it do that when the Safety Group B has the two options that are already included in Level B group? Again, as mentioned in the other thread, it does not mention the 7" instrument panel display. Also, between 1 and B, the only difference is the power outlet, dual climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, LED tail lamps, and park sense. The $2525 difference in price seems high considering I can individually add most of those except the dual climate controls and LED tail lamps for around $1000.

Then on the Laramie builds, it has the choices below. Safety Group B for $1720 with nothing listed? Level B group is nearly $4k and only has memory pedals/mirror/radio, ventilated seats and heated rear seats? That seems a little excessive. And $2620 for steering wheel controls? I mean maybe that part is right, but the blank one and the one above for the Big Horn with duplicate options is baffling me. Is something just wrong with the website that will get straightened out if you actually submit a build to a dealer?

If I go to build a 2020 Ram 2500, here are the options. Both include the 7 inch display and the safety group includes a whole bunch more than the 2021 and it has it at a lower price.

Blind Spot and Cross Path detect chips are in low supply right now and were removed from those groups. It looks like the website developers made a mess of things and deleted more than they should. The dealer uses a different system to order.

This.

Build and Price can (should) get you close. You need to sit down with a dealer and go through DealerConnect to do a proper and accurate build.

I knew about the blindspot being removed so that makes sense that the website is just messed up. The 2020 build and the 2021 Ram brochure both say adaptive cruise is available on a Big Horn. Do you know if that is really the case, since it shows up in that 2020 package? If this is really the case, and the packages include more than I think they do, that is great!

The only thing I noticed different between the 2020 and 2021 on the Laramie trim was they added a digital rear view mirror in the Safety Group. The only thing removed was the BSM/Cross Path and my dealer was able to add that back in when I ordered as a separate line item. I do not know anything on the Big Horn.

You might be able to find what you want on the Buyers Guide which doesn't look updated, then confirm with dealer:

So if I look at a package in this guide, for example the safety package, would that give me a good idea of what actually comes in the safety package (minus the blind spot) for $2620 in the Big Horm or $1720 in the Laramie? Of course I know I have to check with the dealer, but when just playing around some builds before I get serious and actually contact the dealer, will this give me a good idea?

I noticed it is all screwed up as well. For example, on a Lone Star mega cab, Level B can't be selected with either 6.7, only pairs with the 6.4. What?!?

I hope they fix this so you can take a list of known compatible options to a dealer versus learning during the conversation that the configuration you worked on putting together and ultimately want is not possible. On the flipside, they may be able to add things the configurator does not, like BSM with Tag trailer/RCPD and TTPMS.
