For those that have it and have had Line-X how does it compare? How much coverage does the factory have?

In my opinion, the coverage is the same, but the couple of Line-X liners I've had I feel were applied thicker (going off of memory though, not side-by-side).

Line x is better as its thicker but the factory spray is pretty good too my only complaint is where the puck system is they hardly sprayed it

I would much rather have linex, it seems very thinly applied from factory and not very durable. Already have some dings and dents in my bed that i dont believe i would have with linex.

Trust me i have had both linex wont prevent dents anymore than the factory liner will...

My only gripe with the factory liner is not directly a liner issue, it's the stupid plastic bedrail caps they put on these trucks that prevent doing an OTR liner unless you do body work. My 04.5 had an over the rail Line-X and was great. Some have suggested installing a metal bedrail cap and spraying over that, but that seems destined for failure.

I have the factory spray-in liner and have had Line-X liners in three former pickups. Unless they have changed, I'd say that Line-X is a better product. I also had a Toyota factory spray-in liner in my 2018 Tundra. It's also a better product. In my opinion, both are better quality [thicker and more resistant to damage].

I got the factory job with the bed utility group. Time will tell how it holds up but my truck won't be worked hard, hardly at all I hope so I'm guessing it will be fine. That package seemed ok price wise. What's another cple hundred.

When we ordered our Truck we chose to delete the factory spray in bed liner. We went with LineX for two reasons. First, quality of product. I have friends that have both and consensus is that LineX is a much better product. Second, LineX offers a color matched spray in liner. I love the color of my truck and did not want a black spray in liner. Now you do pay a premium for the color match but it looks great!

Do the dealers send them out for the liner or do they come that way from the factory? I assume from the factory. Mine was thrown in after the price was negotiated. Mine looks like the LineX in my old truck but seems to be more U/V resistant.

I have a linex premium liner and my buddy has factory both 2020‘s and they are very similar not sure anyone could tell the difference.

It is my understanding they get dropped off before they get to the deslerships.

Technically it's the same product as it's all owned under the Line-X brand and it's been reported it's the same formulation. The factory is just not applied as thick.

If it was "factory" it goes to an off-site upfitter who applies the "Line-X" just slightly thinner. If the dealer had it applied when they got the truck, they would have contracted a Line-X installer.

Mine has the factory lined bed and it seems to be thinner applied than my last truck with a Line-X. I do know our local Line-X shop (the owner is a friend through our off-road/UTV group) have removed factory liner from a few Toyotas and re-applied their Line-X due to chipping or damage to liners. So it can be done if you're not happy with the factory liner.

I 1000% agree with Brutal about the rails. This has been my first truck that I couldn't remove the plastic caps and have the liner applied all the way. Kind of a silly design but maybe there's a reason for it.....

My 04.5 has over the rail Line-x and was hoping to do the same when we finally get around to ordering a new truck. Sounds like it's not doable any longer due to bed rail caps?

The bed rails are perforated with holes for the plastic bedrail cap cover clips. You could pull them off but unless you do bodywork, the holes will be there.

There is an on-site vendor that installs the bed liner and steps. They are located on the same property as the production plant in Saltillo.

I had the factory liner in a 2014 1500, no tonneau cover. It seemed like it faded really quick.
