Ram towing website not working

@buster26

I have lots of threads at 5th Gen with this info.

I for some reason can not get the link for the 2020 towing guide to work right now. My cellphone is being...well...quirky

Edit: I can send a txt with it lol. Just google 2020 ram 1500 towing chart and it will come up

So if my payload is maxed at 1504 for people and cargo, I can tow 9,900 with 500 on the tongue. I can increase the towing capacity as I decrease people/cargo.... to a total max of 11,404 if there were no people or cargo in the cab of the truck.
If your payload is maxed at 1504 you can not tow anything.

If you have 1004lbs of payload you can have 500lb tongue weight.

If just a 200lb driver...you can have 1304 tongue weight...but the truck can only handle 1200lbs.

Anything over 500 requires a WDH.

Make sense? Let me know

It does! I knew I needed to account for the tongue weight, but thought it would count against the trailer weight, not the payload.

Does fuel count against payload? Or is payload just people and cargo?

I appreciate everyone's time and help!

Fuel is part of base weight. Payload is just occupants and cargo

Try this:

I'm sure DD is right on the Hemi/Rebel for GCWR but the online tow capacity lists are different for max tow than what my VIN shows on my truck.
Hello, when I look at the posted url, I don’t see any information concerning the2021 2500 crew cab 4x4 Laramie with the 6.7 I 6 specs. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you!

They only list the base model trucks and there's nothing there yet for the 2021.

Best to go look in the door sticker payload thread and find a 2500 CC 4x4 Laramie 6.7L. You didn't say short bed, long bed, or Mega. In any case, it's probably going to be under 2K. The payload listed on a Mega Big Horn is 2040.

GCWR, Trailer tow should be similar as well.

Thank you, I used my VIN for online for payload and towing weight, but it did not match the payload in my door jam. Yes, I have a short bed. Thanks for the information.

The Ram towing guide website (https://www.ramtrucks.com/towing/towing-guide.html) has not been working for at least a week.
I have a 2020 Ram Rebel that I bought in July and I remember when I bought it, I ran my VIN through the site and it was 10,000+. Are there any other ways to get this information as I look at towing a travel trailer (not a 5th wheel) in the near future? I have called RAM customer service twice, sent an email, and chatted with them .... no answers.

Thanks for the help!
This still happens for 2020 vehicles, seems to work for all prior years. Haven't tried one for 2021.
