2021 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your order here!

Ordered 2/10. Also received buildsheet today! Olive green Power wagon level 2 with tow package, 12” screen, HK Speakers, on the fly shift and a few other bits..
This makes me a bit nervous. Same order as me, Olive Green PW, level 2, tow, safety, rambox, 12" screen, HK speakers, side steps, no sunroof, but I ordered on 1/16 and still haven't seen a build sheet yet. Dealer and Ram chat say the parts are gathered and awaiting build, but seems odd a 2/10 order would process before a 1/16...

From what I have seen on this forum, this is not unusual. In our case three trucks were ordered through the same dealer. Two on a Thursday and one a week later. One of the original two was built and shipped a few weeks ago. The one ordered one week later was basically an identically optioned truck and just shipped a couple of days ago. The other truck ordered on the first Thursday is a lesser optioned truck but still has not been built. So I would say it is impossible to figure out a pattern.

I agree that is a bit strange, I did no sunroof as well but also no ram boxes and no safety group. Did do the 360 camera system though.. your delay could be the safety group? Also my understanding is once a build sheet is populated that means the trucks been built? Waiting shipping now then window sticker once it’s shipped or about to ship?

I'm thinking the safety group is the issue based off the conversations in this thread. Keeping my fingers crossed the build sheet populates this week...

Just got an update from Ram Chat on the eta of my Truck... 4/13...Thats roughly 30 days more than original estimate.. If it holds true it will put it at roughly 15 weeks from order to arrival.

Just got an update

Ordered 2/27
Vin on 3/2
Currently In D1
Estimated ship date of 4/4

Looks like I’ll be selling the Chevy sooner rather than later.

If the dealer can't (or won't) do the add for BSM, it can be done DIY as others have already done this by adding parts and recoding the sales code with AlfaOBD.

The only DIY upgrade that hasn't been figured out related to mirrors is the 21 digital mirror option fitted to 10-20 trucks. Seems the 19-20 BCM firmware/hardware isn't supporting it.
Thank you for this - that is very helpful. I actually did look at parts cost for BSM, and the replacement glass (with the indicator light) can be had for around $80 CAD per side, plus whatever other parts I would need.

I spoke with my dealer today, and they confirmed I'm not getting the BSM - I have Equipment Group 'B' and NOT Level 2. They claim that "Level 2" was locked out to them when they placed the order 3 weeks back, but they also told me on the day that I ordered that Group B and Level 2 were the SAME - they are not the same. Now I also found another issue with the build sheet in that my build reverted some of the other adjustments I already had the dealer make weeks ago, IE my truck is now 9,900lb GVWR (I need the 10,000 - that 100lb matters to me!) and also no longer has the off road group (which I specified), but has protection group instead! So, my situation just got a whole lot worse than it was. To make it even worse, they are now saying it can no longer be modified!!

At this stage I feel like asking my dealer for my deposit back and starting the process all over again - I have not signed anything, but have paid a deposit. I don't care as much about the timeframe as much as I do getting the truck I want with the options I need. Else, I would just buy whatever is available on the lot!! FCA really need a better way to do this - the lack of transparency and visibility with the dealer in the middle is horrible. If I was buying a Big Mac and wanted Bacon on it and I didn't get it, maybe I would be ok, but this is a $70k purchase and as a customer I should expect to be able to get exactly what I want!! So frustrating.

Any thoughts or ideas based on people's experience to date? The dealer tells me that my truck is in "D" status if that helps - they tell me that means it can't be modified? That said, I am also losing trust in what my dealer tells me.

If the timeframe doesn't matter, then I would make the dealer order a new one with your exact specifications. When they submit the order, make sure they give you a copy of the Priced Order Confirmation (POC). This will list everything that was ordered and you can make sure they get it right.

Who emailed you? Dealer, RamCare...I chatted with RamCare and have contacted my dealer and I have not gotten any "unsolicited" communication back. Ramchat is always the same canned reply and my dealer, while responsive, does not have anything to add. My build date was supposed to be 3/20, but no joy...

EDIT- disregard, I see you already answered on this. It is just odd how communication is all over the place from Ram.
OK, cool news. Got my build sheet. From what I can tell everything looks right in regards to equipment ordered. One cause of concern. Does anyone know what "D1 to D Regress" means? I hope it doesn't mean what I think it means. Is regress the opposite of progress...

Sorry you are having a bad experience, but maybe you should reorder and consider another dealer/salesman? When I ordered my truck on 2/11 the person I worked with knew that the new 'A&B' groups did not include BSM, so he ordered the 'A&B' group packages and added BSM as an individual item. BSM shows up as Sales Code XAN on my Priced Order Confirmation (POC), along with Safety Group B, Towing Tech B, and Laramie Level A.

Thanks for sharing the sales code. Unfortunately for me I don't think its going to be easy to cancel and get my deposit back. Feels like it will be a battle to get my deposit refunded, but obviously I need to try.

Does anyone have experience with escalating factory ordering issues with FCA directly? I feel like I want to go direct to Ram customer service and try to resolve the situation there?

In earlier post you said you put down a deposit but didn't sign anything. Do you have something that shows what you put a deposit down on? If the dealer can't deliver what you put a deposit down on then getting the deposit back should not be an issue. It may take some assertiveness but at the end of the day . . . the battle will be what it will be.

Dealer contacted me today - KZM status, currently in Texas. Ordered 1/22. Moving right along!
What did you order and how was it built ? My 3500 Laramie ordered 1/10/21 has been at the body vendor since 3/3/2021 and not moved a bit since !

You're right it will be what it will be, but I am confident I will get a resolution - for sure I will need to assert some pressure tactics. Just to answer your question, no I don't have what I now know to be called a "POC" which would document the exact options that were ordered - I wish I had all the info from this forum before ordering! Anyways, hindsight is great :)

Did you order the trailer camera wiring? According to what I have been told, they are having supplier issues with them.

Yes 21 Laramie crew cab srw level 2 with pretty much ever option except sunroof but I have been told several times all parts for order were ready before build started so if that's the case I guess they were lying !!

Just out of curiosity, is there anyone on here who has actually TAKEN DELIVERY of their vehicle recently? Say the last month or two? All I’m seeing is order and build dates but no one actually taking delivery.

I have a friend who ordered a GMC 3500 a couple months ago and now he’s getting the same runaround on his truck. It was supposed to be delivered a couple weeks ago, now it was supposedly pulled from delivery for a quality inspection. Seems weird that even other brands are saying similar things.
