Looking for some advise from folks that have factory order their truck. I am from Alberta, Canada (Calgary area) and ordered a 2021 Ram 2500 Bighorn 6.4L on Feb 27.

In my order it indicates "equipment group B" which is different to what I built using the Ram website build and price tool - there it was called "level 2 equipment group". The dealer assured me they are the same but this morning I checked the Ram site again and now there are TWO different package options showing up, IE BOTH "equipment group B" OR "level 2 equipment group". 1 is $3595 and the other $3995 CAD. The options list is similar but not the same, EG group B doesn't list blind spot and cross path which I wanted.

So, now I don't know exactly what I am getting which is hugely frustrating and one of the main reasons I factory ordered, IE to get EXACTLY the build I wanted. I have attached the build spec that my dealer sent to me....

Any advice or tips from those who have ordered? Did you end up getting exactly what you ordered? What happens if my truck shows up and its not exact per my spec? Could I get a deposit refund? This is one of those times where I would rather deal with Ram direct and not have to trust what my dealer is telling me....

I'd go online and get your build sheet. Mine was 11 pages and listed absolutely everything, right down the rotary shifter that I wasn't expecting. Everything else was exactly what I ordered.

I dont believe you can get a build sheet until it's in that process. Also, I see in your signature you are gonna plow with your truck? I'm not sure your gonna like the rotary gear shift. Most of what I am reading guys are saying there is a lag in the shift from R to D and vice versa

Thanks, yes I tried. I contacted the dealer and they assured me they're the same options?! I believed them up until today when BOTH options (level 2 and group B) showed up in the Ram build and price configuration.

Not until you have your VIN. I checked with RAM chat every week for updates. Their responses are pretty much canned but the first thing they will ask from you is your VIN and VON and verify your name and address. They provided the link to access my build sheet.

Thanks - I figured I would need a VIN. So I wonder what happens if when I do get my build sheet something is not right.... I have a deposit with my dealer and I will not be pleased if the truck arrives and its not exact per my order. IMO, I paid a premium for factory ordering so kind of expect I will get the options I ordered!

I was skeptical at first but it's growing on me. It actually isn't that bad once you get used to it. I have not experienced a lag at all.

My dealer said he couldn't order blind spot/cross path due to the chip shortage, and mine says level B instead of level 2. Pretty sure that's the difference.

With all of the Covid happening, we found the need to let them roam a little. But the beavers are always here kept warm and petted on a daily basis.

That's not right by them. My dealer put the order into FCA on August 8th and I approved it on the 10th. My first contact with RAM chat was on 8/24 and I had my VIN by then. I was told at that time it was in the pre-production stage while they are gathering all the parts to begin the build process. I was able to get the link to the build sheet during my chat on 9/14 but it was in "the stage prior to being released by the plant".
I would think that since you don't have your VIN yet it is most likely in the pre-production stage. I would tell your dealer to verify your order and make corrections while they're still able.

Thanks - yes I have heard from another user who indicated a parts shortage as the reason they've now introduced both packages. I'm wondering if blind-spot and cross path can easily be added later IF you have the level B? Any ideas? I know Level B still comes with LED tail lamps, which I believe house the sensors for cross path, but the mirrors I think the glass is different. Hmmm, I will contact my dealer again tomorrow - pretty frustrating as there was only level 2 showing up on the Ram site when I ordered, and at the time the dealer (who showed me a level B spec) indicated they were the same..... they are obviously not the same and I really want blind spot and cross path for towing.

Earlier in this forum I believe someone said it can't be added after it's built

You might want to try here Gustafson's Dodge Chrysler Jeep They have 18 21s and 8 20s may have what you want available now and you won,t have to wait 6mths to get it

The safety group "B" has the BSM removed also.

Yup, you are right. BSM doesn’t show up in the Safety Group any more. It is still listed under the Laramie Level 2 Group. I imagine it is a matter of Ram not getting the Build site right.

Apparently a parts shortage so they have introduced the "B" groups (there is also a towing tech group B as well!). All alternate groups which eliminate the blind spot and cross path. Very frustrating on RAMs part... I wish they would just take down the option from their configuration tool all together.

Anyways, I am going to call my dealer first thing tomorrow (I have already emailed them) and tell them that I want the BSM and CrossPath included and fitted whenever the parts are available. I actually wonder if the mirror glass would already have the BSM light and the tail lights will have the sensors in them but just not hooked up?? Doubtful but that would be nice!

Hopefully you will be able to get the option added later. I just received an email saying my truck is scheduled to be delivered to the dealer the week of May 10th.

Where are you located Don-T and when did you order? Also curious how you got to be on the email update list for your order? I would really like to be able to track my order on my own without harassing my dealer all the time... although obviously with the situation with Level 2 and Level B, I most certainly will be contacting them in the hopes they can figure it out with FCA
