If you want TQ buy a diesel lol 429 is tons for what the truck needs to do

That attitude is the EXACT reason Ford is selling 7.3L gas trucks as fast as they can build them.

You don't get to #1 by sitting on your ass as an automaker and being content with the same powertrain for a decade.

I am really interested in getting a Power Wagon. I currently have a 2017 gas Nissan Titan XD Pro4x that has overall been a really solid truck.

I was hoping to wait till they brought the 5th gen cab from the 1500s to the HDs, but it sounds like that could be a couple years off. Is that right? I am curious if they are going to bring any of the other 75th anniversary edition goodies to the 2022 year (like the front captain's chairs with the full console). It seems like they are putting an updated version of the 6.4 in other Jeep products so curious of they retune for the HD trucks as well. I do have to say the 6.4 with the new 8 speed is pretty solid.

Curious, has anyone heard anything else about updates to the Power Wagon?

Ford is far from #1 and the 7.3 came out to replace the 6.8 v10 that ran from 98-18 so for 2 decades they kept the same **** engine that still was garbage after 20 years.... my father inlaw ordered 4 trucks with the 6.8L 3 made it to the dealer one blew the engine on the way from the factory then another blew up....

i wont even touch on the 6.0 and 6.4 powerjokes or the 5.4 triton.... or the 19+ 5.0l that burns oil and blows up often

Now that Ford and GM have both brought all new V8 engines to the table I would LOVE to see Ram do the same. The 6.4L is getting long in the tooth. 429 lb/ft isn't quite cutting it in 2021.
Agreed! But it won’t happen for 22. Best we can hope for is a bump in 23. Their refusal to tweak the 6.4 is frustrating. I’ve loved my Power Wagons and the 6.4 has done everything I’ve asked of it, which is more than most PW owners ask of that engine… while an obligatory bump in power may not do much for performance, it can do a lot in customer perception. RAM can throw out any excuse they want as to why they haven’t bumped it but they do not seem to embrace this simple and obvious truth when it comes to the 6.4. Very weird.

Yikes! As a former Furd guy I can not express the suckness that was the 5.4 Triton. It wasn’t until I caved and bought a 2006 Jeep Commander with the 5.7 HEMI for the wife, that I realized how outclassed the 5.4 was. I was so drunk on the Furd koolaid for so long. :)

The 2023 HDs are supposed to get the FULL redesign. They will be a true 5th gen HD. I’m waiting to see that truck. If you are on the fence, I’d wait too if I were you. If release times play out as they normally do, they should be out at the end of 2022. So actually only a little over a year out.
As for 22 PWs, they will have a “new” Level 3 package that it supposed to be hard loaded and will retain the interior from the 75th without the badging of course. (Uconnect 5 will be on the 22s) It’s supposed to have the same grill as the 75th as well. The bead locks and steps/slash rock sliders are still a question mark.
Personally I wouldn’t drop $70k + on the last year of the 4.5 gen but that’s an individual choice. It’s still going to be a nice truck.

Yeah, I have heard 2023 as a possibility too. I did end up pulling the trigger on a 75A Power Wagon in April and I love the truck. I will be interested in seeing what updates coming to the HDs in the coming years. I tend to keep my trucks for 3-4 years so the timing may work out well as I usually like to wait a year or so after a major update.

Oh dude, sweet! The 75th is a beautiful and awesome truck no doubt. You WILL continue to love it!
I know the first model year stigma but I’ve bought them in the past and had no issues and I’m confident in RAM. So personally I’m not worried at all. I’m in a particular position that will be beneficial for me to wait a bit.

Thank you, I absolutely love the Power Wagon!

Love my 75th.
Only issue I have with the '22 model year is that they are carrying over a few things in the level 3 package that I think should have been 75th only, Jail Bar Grill being one of them.

Yeah I agree that it kind of sucks for the 75th guys. But you still get the badging ;) …. That and I’m not sure if the 22s get the wheels and rock sliders without buying them separately?

Mopar loves playing that game.

Same thing they did with the Demon to Hellcat Redeye.
