I think they could have done a better job explaining how that works. The factory warranty (bumper to bumper and powertrain) only covers the truck and it’s parts as assembled at the factory and delivered to the dealer. ANYTHING added after that fact, even if OEM parts are used and the dealer installs them, do not fall under the factory warranty. Those parts, or options, if installed by a dealer, would be warrantied directly by the dealer that installed them. So, when ram cares looks at your build sheet, and sees remote start as a dealer installed option, their hands are tied as far as getting anything that has to do with the remote start system taken care of under factory warranty, and the dealership that did the dealer installed option would be on the hook for any issues having to do with that.
