Correct! We shall see if it arrives, I’ll keep you posted. What is your date for arrival?

My dealer only told me first or second week of March-so we will see- I’m getting a little anxious waiting

Ordered on 11/23, dealer called yesterday and truck is here. Will pick up on Friday. About 15 weeks from order to arrival.

Weird update. I've contacted Ram Chat about once a week for the past 3 weeks and each time the status was "All parts have been gathered and it will be entering the build process soon".

Then today I contact them, and the update is "Waiting for parts to arrive before it can enter the build stage"

Edit: Dealer confirmed that my truck moved from D1 status to D status. That's frustrating.

I've been in that same stage since mid January. No movement. ETA keeps getting pushed.

I've got an RV coming and trips planned. Actually looking at F450. Never in my life thought I'd leave Ram but you need to keep an open mind. That 10 speed and tight turning radius is a BOMB. 19.5's are a plus, and the back seat is bigger then crew cab where I don't feel I need a megacab to get the extra room for kids and dog which then puts me in a short bed which is another thing I'm having a hard time with.

Kicker is Ford has excellent tracking software. Take a look at some of the links that are available (FCA TAKE NOTE).

What draws you towards the F450 vs the F350?

Heavier duty front axle and it also turns better. Everything else that I've seen the F350 may be a better bet because of creature comforts, same towing capacity but the payload is actually better with the F350 vs. F450. Also, I think insurance would be better on an F350 because it isn't considered a commercial vehicle.

edit: also the F450 is supposed to have better brakes

Anyway, things could be different this year since I was considering something like this for a previous MY. Also, the vehicle tracking software for Ford may be better, but are the actual delivery timeframes any better than RAM? You may know where the truck is easier than with Ram but does it make it actually quicker? But, if you can find something on a lot that would be best. Thoughts?

For sure it’s frustrating but to be honest I wouldn’t even check the status for the first 7-8 weeks if I could do it over again. Submit your info on crypto sticker and once the build sheet populates it’ll email you, it’s great! Once it starts production it’s really quick!

Awesome, I’m thinking the same for mine either this week or next. I’ll keep ya updated if it’s this Thursday.

Dealer texted me. Truck has just completed build process and is moving to body vendor. I now have a build sheet but no window sticker yet.

Starting to get excited.

Mine is in shipping status and will remain there until it arrives at the dealer !

What draws you towards the F450 vs the F350?

Pretty much what Doberman said. They both are class 3 trucks as they are under 14,001#. Yes, the f450 has less legal cargo capacity as its curb weight is heavier but its derated to stay in the class 3 truck category.

My selling points are:
- 10 speed trans, 7th is 1:1, 8, 9 10 is over drive
- 4:30 gear ratio
- very tight turn radius
- larger brakes
- 19.5 tires
- heavier axles (shafts)
- heavier curb weight which in general is better for towing
- full size sunroof
- larger back seat than crew cab (megacab has small bed which makes towing fifth difficult)
- completely flat back foot area (no small hump that dog needs to lay over)
- extending/better tow mirrors
- I 'believe' one piece driveshaft
- Truck just looks better than a RAM.....F450 looks like a truck not like an oversized Pontiac
- I can get one in 2 weeks instead of waiting for God knows how long for my Ram which hasn't been built yet (have new RV coming and trips planned).

Cons:
- Its a ford, cp4 pump
- any engine work requires pulling cab
- Screen is smaller
- I already have a deposit on a Ram

Sorry for thread derailment as I know this is for orders, but I guess this sort of applies.

Mine shipped from Saltillo last Wednesday for the 650 mile journey to the dealer. The route it's taking puts it at the dealer 3/22. Maybe sooner if I'm lucky.
I put my 2016 Ram on Craigslist and Auto Trader. Lots of interested people and one good offer I'm tempted to accept. I just dont want to be without a truck for 3 weeks, maybe 4. Decisions.

Yeah, that's wise advice that I know I should do, I let my impatience get the best of me. I spent some time looking around national inventories to see if there was anything similar to what I purchased, and my search brought me back to this conclusion. If I want to get exactly what I want, I have to order it. LOL

Sorry but can someone post the link again to get your window sticker. I went back a few pages and can’t find it.

Mine is at body vendor now too for bed liner. Hoping that doesn't hold it up too much. Ordered 1/9

Ya I noticed the status as well. Ram Chat and my dealer confirmed the truck is built but still waiting for the bed liner and side steps. Not sure if I’m just extremely lucky or if their both blowing hot air but we will see.

They usually build up a “batch” of vehicles for the vendor and complete them as such. At least that’s the idea I’ve gathered from this amazing forum.

And those 10 speeds are acting up around the 40,000~50,000 miles according to some hot shotters

It’ll be worth it, spending so much on a vehicle it’ll be neat when yours shows up exactly how you wanted! Best of luck!
