To you that took delivery on a dually lately, does the factory apply any permanent protective film to the front of the dually fenders? I have a friend that has a 2018 and it came with the film but I am not sure if Ram continued the practice. Getting pricing on PPF ahead of the truck's arrival. Thanks. C

Save your money and put fixed steps and flaps on it the film is pretty useless

I have a full set of WeatherTech mud flaps ready to go on as soon as I take delivery. The boards are retractable so they may not provide much protection on the sides. Pretty sure I will put film on the front painted bumper and leading edges of the hood and front fenders Just to prevent stone chips. On the other hand it will be a pavement princess so not sure how much protection is really needed. Appreciate the input.

i would recommend the avs stone and bug deflector for the hood

My 2020 dually was built in October 2020. It came with some PPF on the dually fenders.

There's a full width piece at the bottom and a partial-width piece a little higher, above the trim line indentation (the indentation is not protected).

I inquired about PPF at the factory XPEL shop in San Antonio. They quoted (below) $752 for EACH full dually fender; they didn't quote partial...and extra for fender flares. PPF on the front bumper is $595. That $595 would go quite a bit towards a replacement bumper. So, the PPF I have is what came with the truck + some tiny strips for the mud flaps.

The $140 is for a strip at the front of the hood and tabs on the fenders. The bottom of the quote is for tint.

I also have the Weathertech mud flaps, front and rear. I like their molded style. But, they are shorter than traditional, rubber flaps...so, I'm a bit ambivalent about them.
