21 mega cab Cummins on order, I also have amp research steps on order. My questions, these state plug and play: guessing they plug in to the odb under the dash. If I run a splitter, will the running boards work and can I use the spare odb port as normal? Could I plug in a Edge cts3 too?

is there a way to hardwire?

On my 2017 I had a splitter to run my APM Steps and the CTS2 - no issues. If I was changing tunes I removed the splitter and plugged in to the OBD port directly, but I probably didn't need to.

I believe any splitter will be a problem whenever the two items plugged in are both pulling info from the ECU or TCU. So, yes a splitter with an Edge (pulling data from ECU) and power steps (reacting to ECU data) will work fine.

Note that the Banks says:
IMPORTANT! Designed for use with Derringer/iDash and a non-diagnostic device such as Amp Research steps. Will not allow for multiple diagnostic devices.

This confirms what I posted. It seems I should have used "diagnostic" rather than "pulling data'

That's been my experience as well trying to run an Edge and Banks trans controller together. Big No-Go. Had to switch to a banks economind tuner to get them working together.

Most people do not have 2 diagnostic devices together - but for what the OP wants it can be done.

You can get the AMP steps with 2 different wiring installs....hardwired and via the OBD.

Resurrecting a older thread to see if anybody has found what I am looking for in a OBD Splitter.

I would like to find a splitter that one of the female ends goes in the OEM location and the other female and
male end would be under the dash. I would like to keep a port in the OEM location for any service work or using the
OBDLink and have it split for the AMP Steps.

Edge products sells a good one at a fair price
