I think it’s digit 7 in the vin that defines the trim of the model. Mine is T so T defines limited rams 4x4 left hand drive, maybe??? When my Build sheet posts I’ll see what model Jeep it is.

Just received an email notice from FCA US Customer Care that "based on our most recent information your vehicle is to arrive at [my dealer] the week of 04/06/2021." My order date was 02/02/2021.

Ordered 1/21, VIN about a week later and on 1/29 received an email from US Customer Care stating truck is scheduled to arrive at the dealership the week of 4/2/21.

Just curious what state you’re in? I Ordered on Jan 18. Hoping for that week or the week before.

Here is a VIN decoder from 2016 that includes all CDJR vehicles. You can see some of the same letters in the 5-7 fields mean different things depending on the product line. I ordered an almost identical 2021 RAM 2500 (except for few extra creature comforts) to my current 2017 RAM 2500 and the first 8 fields of the VIN are identical.

I don't particularly recall giving my email to the dealer and I did contact FCA about a week after so I'm not sure exactly where they got my contact info. I did do a Ram chat with one of their agents a few weeks into the order and she updated all of my information.

Order Date 2/15/21
VIN Date 2/18/21
Estimated Delivery 4/25/21 ( just received email from US Customer care)

This is quicker than dealer thought, and he said definitely could be delayed past this - but nice to now have a target, for what it’s worth.
Ordered Laramie 2500 mega with Cummins.
 
Not many hold to their original estimated build and ship dates. Not sure what that percentage is but my guess is small. Not sure what metrics they use to estimate build/ship dates but it needs work. LOL
