Remote start added to 2020 Tradesman (SOLVED)

Add another happy Tradesman owner with remote start and tailgate release to the list. Mopar remote $98, dealer programming of the remote ($90 unfortunately), a little time under the hood, and a little time using AlfaOBD was well worth it.

Where did you get remote? Are you in SoCal? I’m trying to find someone with alfaobd

Mine does depending on the outside temp. Once you hit the start button, it reverts to the last setting set by the controls.

Aquaholic, I bought it at my work, direct from Mopar. There are two part #'s to the same FOB. Part numbers are 68475385AA and 68374994AC. I think the AA was on a long backorder and AC was substituted. Cost about $98.

I can’t find it cheaper then 117 plus 14 shipping

Aquaholic, $98 is what I paid in the parts department. Look into Bam Wholesale if the online shipping isn't too bad. The AC#, which has the same functions, has a cost of about $7 more than the AA one.

Bam Wholesale has the 5 button fob for $118. The link is posted earlier in this thread.

You can also disable the Panic button with AlphaOBD if you so choose. Mine has been activated several times in my pocket. I have no use for it otherwise. After I disabled it the change took effect immediately.

That's a great price. When I look at them in the dealer portal, they're more than that for the parts department to buy.

My dealer quoted me $200 for the FOB and $75 to program. My salesman said they would program the one I ordered for $75. A local locksmith wanted $250 for a programmed FOB. After all my research $175 sounds pretty good. Not my wife though. She's still a bit upset I dropped it down the hole in the ice house. 200 mile round trip to bring me hers.

My dealer will program it for $75. Check with yours.

I need to get it turned on in the computer also so they are probably going to hit me hard. I have an iPhone and an iPad so I can get alphaobd.

You can use Jscan to enable remote start for iOS devices. You would still need a security gateway bypass and the OBDLink MX+.

Well, my tradesman must be a rare breed. There is no connector on the hood latch, sensor isn't there. I know it was a lease fleet truck so it's possible they build them to absolute bottom dollar for that market.
I'll be planning to acquire all the parts and install at some point before the next winter season.

@Jimmy07 I'm assuming here that the 2020 remote that is linked above, can be used on my '19.. do you agree or should I look for '19 specific... :)
