Ordering 2021 PW: Question about Ventilated Seats

I have to say these complex electromechanical devices really worry me. I'm gonna bang around off road and I'll bet right now that the headlights become a problem.
What is the dealer offering you on a special order

Why not order a 75A?
If I was buying this year, I wouldn't. I would have loved the buckets and console but the brown seats aren't my style. Plus I like the factory tubular steps instead of the rock rails.

I was ready to order a 75A back in October because of the anvil color. Once more details became available, I decided to get a standard PW. Reasons
  1. Rock rails are too high and too narrow for wife and kids
  2. The brown seats
  3. No bed logo option
  4. Don't need 12" display
  5. Faux bead lock wheels - going to buy AEV wheels so just money wasted
It basically boils down to what you want in your truck. I wouldn't get the 75A just because it's a special edition.

Yea I miss my amp research power steps and will probably swap them in the near future. My wife didn't have an issue using the rock sliders the other day and she is just shy of 5'.

I got it mainly for the brown seats.

And I think they have to use bead lock capable wheels from a legal stand point.

I was able to get my AEVs and 37s for about 2300 out the door and sell my stock 2019 wheels for 800. I could have gotten more by waiting but surely would have gotten more for the bead lock capable ones.

When all said and down between what they sold me the truck for and gave me for my trade in it was a pretty good deal

It's all personal preference. I really wanted the 12" screen and the extra 75A stuff appeals to me. I also love rare runs of great vehicles...so this was a no brainer (for me).

Get what you want...life is too short not to. Either way...75A or not...they're still Power Wagons!!

I'm stuck in South Korea till March 29 so I've been trying to do this by phone and email. I'm being ignored by dealers. No response after I talk to them and they agree to provide a quote.
Nice I was at Casey Hovey for 9 months a couple years ago. On orders I was getting about 9% off the MSRP

You are better off just waiting and talking to them in person when you return. Not defending them but do you know how many emails and calls they get from young soldiers overseas (and people locally) asking about pricing and then never following through. 99% of the time it's probably a dead end and waste of time for the dealer. They also know you are just going to take that quote and shop it around so they are not interested in playing that game until you are actually ready to buy

I would be curious to see how many 75A are built with the supply chain issues. Most I saw on cars.com were in transit and not many stayed on the lot for long. I was working on a deal on one in northern texas did financing and was hammering out the final number when someone bought it on the lot.

I have to keep trying because talking to "them" in person ain't gonna happen. I have lived in Las Vegas for decades and have never been able to make a deal on a vehicle in this town. It has remained in the past with the worst of the old dealer practices still in play. I'll just have to be patient. Last vehicle I bought in Vegas was a Chevy Suburban that an Arizona dealer delivered to me.

FWIW. I bought my 19 Power Wagon from Towbin Dodge in Henderson, NV. Did the whole deal remote and drove from Arizona to sign the final paperwork and pick up the truck.

Have you considered going through a broker rather than direct with the dealerships?

I ordered my 2020 via a broker and it was 100% through emails, texts and one phone call. The only time I even set foot on the broker's lot was the day my truck was ready for pickup.

Just curious, how does that broker fee compare to you doing the legwork? Did they take a % or a flat fee? My time is valuable so I can definitely see the plus side of using a broker but have no idea what they charge.

Nothing from my pocket. I don't know what they received from the dealership they partnered with, but they gave me a quote and honored it, even finding me a couple of discounts I wasn't aware of at time of closing.

I have never used a broker. I did just get a quote from an out of state dealer for ordering a 75AE PW. The quote looks ok, the price is invoice which is probably not bad for this version of the PW.
