Shortage of Big Horn Longbeds

I ordered a build a couple of weeks ago, Big Horn Long bed.
There was not any available out west. None, nada.
Just for the fun of it, tried again, doing a dealer search with various zip codes.
Why the shortage of long bed Big Horns?

I found my 2020 3500 SRW Laramie Cummins on a dealer lot with 33 miles on it but the first 2 dealers I went to laughed at me and said they could “check allocation on Monday but good luck” and all I asked for was a SRW Cummins. I was open to trim level at the time. must not have wanted my money!

I had the same issue when I was looking. Looked nationwide for a Hemi Laramie CCLB for a couple of months. Finally decided to just order mine.

Look in Texas. Big Horns are branded as Lone Stars out here. There's over 80 2021's of those within 250 miles of me with an 8' bed. I never could find a Hemi Longhorn Mega Cab anywhere, nevermind the Ramboxes. Pretty sure I have a unicorn.

There are currently no restrictions on Ram Heavy Duty long boxes. It is just that many dealers who don't order anything but short boxes. There is a production update that will be posted tomorrow on the HDRams front page about a packaging change for Laramie and Big Horn models so stay tuned.

Mostly the issue is dealers dont order higher trims in short boxes i found one of the reasons i went with my tradesman vs the shortbed night edition loaded bighorn i looked at

I had the same issue when I was looking. Looked nationwide for a Hemi Laramie CCLB for a couple of months. Finally decided to just order mine.

That’s exactly why I ordered mine, seems there are only a few CCLB Hemi Laramies in the entire country, seems like they are all diesel...

I'm assuming you are looking for a 2500. You just don't see a lot long bed 2500's unless its a Tradesman. There are a ton of 8 foot bed 3500's especially if you want a DRW.

I agree. I was looking for a crew cab long bed SRW 3500 and it was about impossible to find in any western state. I ended up ordering one.
