Has the 6.7 H.O. Engine ever been offered in the 4500/5500 series truck in the past? I can’t get anyone at 3 dealers that knows their ass from a hole in the ground to get me an answer. I’ve even tried to contact the Mountain Region factory rep with no reply at all. I’m trying to figure out if the 2021 will offer that engine choice maybe a month or two from now after the factory gets all caught up on everything. If it has never been offered in that series then I have my answer.
Thinking about ordering one but the lack of knowledge or motivation by Ram and it’s dealers has me in doubt now. Might just get a trusted Toyota again. No doubts on quality and durability there...
TIA

To my knowledge, the 4500/5500 don't have the same advertised HP specs as the non-commercial trucks, as they have to be dyno tested to meet DOT/EPA requirements.

There was not an HO produced since 2001-2002 in 2019 they brought the HO option back it is not offered in the 4500-5500.... the older 6.7s only had different tunes depending on the trans not an HO engine

To my knowledge, there has never been an HO offered in a CC truck,

There most certainly were "HO" engine options offered in a few other model years. 02-04 had an SO and HO available (outside CA). 04.5+ got the HO as standard offering. I believe there was a similar offering in 2011. Until 2019, these prior HO engines were just tunes. The new HO is lower compression (heads?) and tune.

We have never considered them HO unless they supported different hard parts like the 2001 had a different injection pump and was only offered with the 6 speed.

my biggest concern is how he can even think the little toyota is even in the same ball park as a 4500-5500 the yota ia a dinky car in comparison

How on earth are you Cross shopping a 4500/5500 with a Toyota?

We have discussed this a few times here.

2011 had a high output release. They came out a month after I purchased mine. They even came wirh their own little badge on the tailgate.
