Rattle Noise In Cab

I've got an appointment for Monday at the dealer I bought the truck from. They seemed a little more optimistic this time than times in the past. Hopefully it won't be there for three months like the last time I left it there for cab mounts. I'll update when I get it back

Drag Link assembly and intercooler (oil leak that just started) on order and cab mounts will be replaced next. More to come...
What area is your oil leak coming from? Mine was leaving oil spots in the driveway from the day I brought it home, it was wet between the engine and transmission and dripping from the backside of the oil pan. I was thinking the worst and figured it was the rear main seal but the dealer determined it was coming from the pan gasket because the pan bolts were loose. They retorqued then and it has been dry since.

So what do they do for the fix? I’d rather do it myself.

Does your 3500 have a rattle from the cab mounts? The TSB for the cab rattle is for the 2500 and to my knowledge the 3500 has different style cab mounts as well as the rear suspension.

Correct it might be a cab mount issue. I have the clunk in the worst way and the cab mounts replaced 2x. No luck.

You guys got me paranoid about that clunk noise. Couple days ago I started hearing it from the back also. Immediately that thread pop in my head. I was like oh crap it's my turn. But then I found my hitch adapter still inside the hitch and once I removed it the noise is gone.

Front drivers side, it's coming from the corner of the intercooler. I guess it's somewhat common, the maintenance technician found the leak within 10 minutes of bringing the truck into the dealership.

Update: I brought my truck in yesterday morning to the dealersh*t to get the oil leak (air cooler/intercooler & hoses changed) and clunking noise (steering drag link changed) fixed. Both were under warranty and I don't seem to have any issues yet. I spoke with the maintenance technician about both issues and he said he has seen a few trucks come in for the clunking issue (I'm in Wichita, KS), but had not seen any come in for the oil leak.

The drag link fixed your clunk?

The one where any articulation off camber or put hole makes the noise? Front right corner?

Mine was making the clunk on the right front over one particular dip in the road as well as a pop felt through the steering wheel when turning. I had my dealer replace the steering drag link because the crimped end was loose. I was hoping it took care of both issues but it only solved the pop felt in the steering wheel, it still clunk when I drive over that one dip. It is crazy because the dip is barely noticeable to the eye and you barely feel it when you drive over it but the truck makes an awful noise when it meets it.

It’s insanity isn’t it
Today I went slightly off camber departure from the bank and it it felt like I had a midget with a hammer under my truck. I almost pulled over it was so bad after the CLUNK

Hilarious Ram has no fix for something like this. Clowns.

My 2015 made an identical clunk but more often and from the left front mostly while pulling in and out of parking lots at an angle. My 2017 was completely quiet up front, same shocks and leveling kit on all three trucks so I know it doesn't have anything to do with that.

I wish I had a logical answer other than craftsmanship

Thanks for the feed back, def not that ive plugged in all the seat belts and still get the noise. Speed bumps, driveways dont make the sound. When i go over manholes valve lids pot holes anything thats uneven and a quick jar is when it happens. And fire road i drove on it was constant. 4 weeks theyve had it now and not one phone call. I have to call them and no ones ever available so they say theyll have someone call back but no one ever does. Its becoming a joke and its pretty sad. Hopefully its fixed when I get it back. Im not sure what my options are after this, call the GM or what?
Try putting clear silicone grease on all the door seals. Mine made all kinds of weird noises until I did that. Now its quiet.

Just pick my '19 2500 C/C up from the dealer after they did the TSB for the rear cab mounts. So far so good after 30 miles with 5 being dirt roads. Only time will tell if it lasts. Here are the part #s that were used.

2 - 68349250 - AF Isolator (cab mounts)
4 - 6510855 - AA Screw Hex ( cab mount bolts?)

I don't know if they're the same #'s other members had installed on their trucks to no avail. but they also replaced the two front cab mount bolts because one was snapped (passenger side) and the other was bent.
I'll update if anything changes.
Kudos to the dealer for helping me out! They also replaced the plastic rock guard at the bottom of the bed on the driver's side after mine was ripped off by a tire tread (AKA highway gator) on the interstate, at no charge!
I may buy another RAM yet. (Jury still out on the CP4. If it lasts until the warranty is up, I'll do the CP3 swap and then I'll buy another RAM)

Exactly one week later and the clunking noise is back on the front right side of the truck. Back to the dealersh*t it goes!

I’ll have to take a look tomorrow but I believe the tsb repair replaced all my cab mounts. It’s crazy that your bolts were bent and one snapped ! How many miles on your ram ? Seems like this could be a much bigger problem if they don’t get it sorted. Mine were quieter after getting replaced but still make noise

I just rolled 45k miles today. They didn't show me the bolts so I have to take their word for it. But it is much, much better. It will bang around ever so slightly when I get into the wash board roads but nothing like it was. It's kinda to be expected tho when you get into rough stuff. Mount compresses, bolts slam back on rebound. I can deal with that. But it would make noise running over the slightest bump. But now, it's pretty good. Hopefully it lasts

Dealer finally called back. Said it’s a faulty body mount and the FCA knows about it and is working on a solution. Also said anytime someone takes their truck in now it should show a recall for it when the fix is available.

They replaced body mounts on my 2020 2500 and it was quite for about 4 weeks, but now the clunk/clank is back. I’m taking it in tomorrow and they are going to re- torque them...we’ll see what happens.

My appointment is Monday (finally), I'm going to request they replace the cab mounts and the steering drag link (again). The clunk is getting worse by the day.
