For the love of god does someokne know how to disable the panic feature of the FOB? I know its likely not possible but going to have to figure something out as i set it off all the time when its in my pocket.

As mentioned, you can do surgery on it to disable it. That's fine for the panic alarm but you could still inadvertently unlock your truck without knowing it. I wish somebody made a hard cover for the keyless fobs that prevented the buttons from being pushed.

I use my panic alarm to scare the - - - t out of little ole ladies at the flea markets!

Surgery complete! Took out battery, then had to slowly peel up rubber boot in front to get to sw, popped sw out then slowly tried to work boot back as designed and no panic! Good to go!KIMG1727~2.JPG

Another method for AlfaOBD users- set Lin & Misc: Panic enabled to NO.
Did this today, worked great. It'll be great not having that thing accidentally going off at the worst times. Now if I can just get over that insecure feeling of knowing that I no longer have my truck horn to vanquish parking lot assailants.

See thats why i wont disable it i never hit it by mistake but if a family member or friend is getting something for me from my truck i like to give them a scare lol

I had a guy creeping around my house one night, I live in the city so I can’t shoot em... I hit the panic bottom on three cars parked around the house and that good for nothin was out of there like a fart in the wind.

Is there an AlfaODB option like this for the remote tailgate release? I can do the surgery but I was just curious if this was an option also.

Thanks!

No. The remote tailgate release is always present in the rf hub. As long as there is a functional release button on the fob, it will just work.

I noticed on the board for the fobs they have the spots for the gate release and the remote start, if i were to solder the buttons on the board would it work for the gate and remote start (after enabling in alfa)

I’m not sure. Is the actual circuitry for the buttons to the transponder on the PCB? I know on the 4th gens, the actual remote start button is on every single fob, it’s just a matter of the rubber button overlay having the “x2” symbol.

The circuits are there there is even solder on each of the 4 points where the button would go
