Hello mates. I should be putting in an order in a few weeks, and I believe I have most of everything nailed down. However, I am questioning if the "Shift on the fly transfer case" is worth the extra $300. The website really does not go into specifics as to why this is an upgrade other than buttons instead of a lever. My Wranglers have levers, I can "shift on the fly" with them, and it feels like the mechanical lever could be less prone to problems in the future.

Is it simply buttons with an actuator or is there some advantage to having this feature?

I hate to say this and get you all worked up, but you're unfortunately in for a long drawn out ride. Wait a few weeks and you should start to see changes in your status etc. And if you've been following these posts, which I know you have been, you could get your truck in as soon as 8-10 weeks or it could be drawn out like mine to 18 weeks. No rhyme or reason, it's just the way things go.
 
I am coming up to two months in a week or so and still don't have VIN. I have A VON. What is the purpose of a VON? Fleet customers can apparently track a vehicle using a VON.

2 months and no vin#. I guess you might want to check with your dealer and ask about it. Vin#'s usually mean you actually have an order in. VON is vehicle order number but vin actuaaly means its an actual vehicle. It seems people usually get there vin within days of there order

I did check with the dealer. There was no VIN two days ago. He did say it was in "BX" status as of January 4th. No updates since then.

I don't recall seeing my VIN until it was actually built? Whenever I checked on build status I always have Ram Chat the VON and they were able to pull it up. I did wait a few months before checking in the first time, so maybe that's why.

Well, truck was supposed to be at dealer this week....now the ETA to dealer is pushed back to "any time from today to Feb 9th"...truck was supposed to be unloaded from rail car i believe 2 weeks ago. Dealer said it arrived at the railyard in Lawrenceville GA 2 days ago and now awaiting truck to dealer...she's only 165 miles away yet, he said expect another 10 days still.
End of this week will be 17 full weeks....ugh

Edit....30 min later dealer said to give him a call, he just saw my truck was picked up this morning from the rail yard and should be at the dealer tomorrow!!

Now I see why you've been waiting so long for your truck. It's a two wheel drive. Since they do not build many of those any more production has been moved from north america.
They are now custom made and hand fitted in the Congo. Ram cares didn't tell you?
It's gonna be a while longer.

So since my truck is finally supposed to be in, I finally get to go over my actual price and incentives...
I have the $1500 bonus offer, but I also got this email from Ram for $1000. I gave my dealer both, and he said both are available but im only allowed to use one...? Anyone else get / use this other $1000 offer? I didnt apply for it, it was just emailed to me. Both are still valid to mid feb.
