TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

Got mine to show in the EVIC before I even cycled the key (push button) the radio, however, took 1 key cycle, and then pressure setup was there. Major thanks to everyone that figured this out! Just set up the trailer tonight and ready to hit the road!
So just to clarify... You bought and installed the parts in the first post? Then, how did you reprogram the computer? Did you take it to the dealer? Or do it yourself?

Correct I ordered the parts (see below) from AllMoparParts and once they finally came in, did the install. Used windows version of Alfa, selected 2020 MY, ran the 2 mods Veh8 Trailer TPM and there was another one that someone suggested and I just ended up doing both. I already owned a BT-ODB dongle so that wasn't an expense for this. The TPMS sensors I ordered from WheelerFleet dot com and had DiscountTire retrofit the tires for me that they had already switched to Goodyears for me a few months earlier, they charged me 20 per rim to dismount, change, rebalance and remount.

<EDIT> Almost forgot you need the security bypass cable from KAOdTech which for what it's worth was the biggest pain to install only because of the way you have to plug into the module but small hands on my better 7/8th's prevailed there!

Awesome! Thank you.

So after reading this entire thread (yes I did) I went to allmoparparts to order as listed above, all good until I ordered the gateway module #68404893AB. States not for my truck and says to use #68400768AA, also found the same on other parts sites. Can anyone confirm this? 2020 2500 Limited 6.7

So I also want to install the ttpms. I can’t answer your question but if you click on that other part number it says it’s for something like a Pacifica??? It does not reference anything about a ram. Sorry to add nothing useful but like I said I’m looking for info also.

You must use 68404893AB. That is the trailer interface module.
Do not use 68400768AA. That is the security gateway module that is used on all 2018+ FCA vehicles.

All the parts and steps are listed in the first post of the thread, are accurate, and what everyone has ordered.

PARTS REQUIRED TO ADD TTPMS to 2019+ RAM HD TRUCKS:
  • TTPMS bumper receiver: 68375990AC (Avg cost ~$70)
  • TIM headliner module: 68404893AB (Avg cost ~$70)
  • TIM Pigtail cable: 68412666AA (Avg cost ~$9)
  • The kit for the TPMS sensors (4) for trailer wheels is 68433188AA (best price I've seen posted not too far back in the thread @ $146)
    • Optional single sensors available as part #68375992AA

I ordered the correct part numbers from Moparwholesaleparts.com and instead of receiving 68404893AB - TIM headliner module, I received AA. It says it's a TIM, I assume it's an older version. Can anyone confirm this will or won't work?

It should work just fine. They change part numbers all the time as they change suppliers of different parts.

Has anyone bought/installed the tire pressure sensors on a towed trailer that can be viewed on the driver information center after being configured in the UConnect? Specifically for the 3500. I am looking for the part number for the sensor.

I've tried a couple of dealers and yesterday chatted and then emailed Mopar support. Chat referred me to email. Email sent me a totally useless reply. "After doing some research, I found that I only have part information for those that come equipped with a particular vehicle or that are compatible with a vehicle. I would suggest that you speak with an authorized Ram dealer for the part number for the Tire Pressure Sensors that would be used by the trailer towed by your truck. "

This being my first non GM truck after 40 years I am surprised that FCA support doesn't have part numbers. Seems like a black hole.

Mod Edit: OP hasn't been seen in a while so I'm posting a summary update here regarding the TTPMS (Trailer TPMS):

Through diligence and hard work on the part of several members, the parts and process to add TTPMS has been discovered. There are several good summaries and instructions posted throughout the thread that I will attempt to cover below.

The parts required, discovered by several contributors and posted throughout the thread, was initially summarized by @thestuarts HERE.

PARTS REQUIRED TO ADD TTPMS to 2019+ RAM HD TRUCKS:
  • TTPMS bumper receiver: 68375990AC (Avg cost ~$70)
  • TIM headliner module: 68404893AB (Avg cost ~$70)

As of 6-21-20 You may find some of these parts, particularly the TIM module and jumper cable, currently out of stock everywhere, partly thanks to this thread.

You will need to install the hard parts. @Phil T excellent instructions pdf HERE.

The hardest part of this is pulling down the headliner (easier on 2020) to remove a dummy plug jumper and install the TIM and jumper cable.

TOOLS REQUIRED:
  • AlfaOBD for Windows (for 2019) or Android (2020 trucks) ($50)
  • Security bypass cable like the one from KAOdTECH. ($50)
  • Bluetooth OBD-II adapter like the OBDLink MX/MX+ ($80/$120)

You will need to enable the sales code option for TTPMS using the tools and components listed to "recode" the Body Control Module (BCM). There's a giant AlphOBD thread here if needing a primer. I used an ELM327 compatible OBD2 reader ($22 BAFX) with success.

Turning on the TTPMS option in the EVIC discovered HERE thanks to @g00fy

VehConfig 8: Trailer TPM

For the 2019 trucks, you may need to use the Windows version and select the MY2020 under advanced - also thanks to @g00fy
(ETA: AlphaOBD has been updated to include MY2019 TTPMS settings)

An excellent writeup using AlphaOBD Windows for a 2019 written by @Phil T HERE

"The TTPM sends the information to the TIM via the Controller Area Network-Chassis (CAN-C) to be transmitted to the IPC."

ETA: P/T Chassis Net: TTPM must be enabled.

It may take several key cycles or time, or even overnight for the Tire Pressure options to show up in the U-Connect Trailer Settings once TTPMS is enabled.

@1FastHemi excellent post on adding the wheel sensors HERE:

I was unable to pair non-MOPAR sensors (external TireMinder) to the system. I don't believe anyone has been successful pairing non-MOPAR sensors.

Lastly, much of this could not have been possible without guidance and input and PARTS from @Jimmy07
Much thanks for putting this all together - I've been reading the thread all day, but I do have a big question - is the TTPMS only for 2-axel trailers? I've got a 3-axel fifth wheel on the way and would strongly prefer an integrated TPMS versus aftermarket......

It can handle up 12 tires. So yes, it can handle 3 axles. I have tandem axles with dual wheels on my RV and it can be set for that as well.

Great - thanks. All of the pics I've seen show the system set up with 4 tires, and it seems like the sensors only come in packs of 4, so I wasn't sure.

Here is the step by step. I don't think it is working yet though. There may be another missing piece we haven't stumbled across yet. Since you will be in and changing things, the trailer aux cam settings are also in the document.
Is there anything that has to be done to set up a three-axel trailer versus a two-axel? The images you show just have four tire positions......

Stevein06, I ordered the same thing 68404893AB and it says that on the box, but part sticker on the module says 4893AA, I'm sure its fine and I'll install it.

In settings you choose the number of axles and number of tires. The pairing process is the same.
