I found used seats and a steering wheel out of a 2020 BigHorn and installed them. I am still needing the clock spring for the steering wheel and the center stack with the Heated Steering wheel and seats buttons. While I was installing the seats I noticed that my plugs under the seat are pre-wired and I have what looks to be all the wiring needed to make this work on my 2019 tradesman. I did not need to add any additional wiring to make the power adjustments on the seat work.

One further observation is when the truck is started and the outside temp is at or below 40 degrees the driver seat is heating up as you would expect when it is cold out which is also leading me to believe all the wiring is already in place. I ordered an unlock cable so I can change the AlfaOBD settings in the BCM for the heated seats and wheel but I have no idea what settings need to be changed to get the "controls" app on my 8.4 uconnect radio. If anyone knows and can share it would be much appreciated.

Once I get the clock spring and center stack I will keep you all updated on the progress.

I found my steering wheel on car-part and then found the vendor on ebay and ordered it. I had been looking for months for a used leather steering wheel. I saw a limited steering wheel going on car-part right after I bought mine but it must have sold literally within hours of me seeing it because it was gone the next day and off the website.

Thank you! I found one and he is holding for me. Does our Tradesman already have the wiring needed to get a heated steering wheel? I already have the new center stack with the push button for it and know how to activate it on AlphaOBD, just wondering if all I need to do is take mine off and put this one on?

You will need the clock spring and I am not 100% on if the wiring is in place. I tried to get the wrecking yard I got my wheel from to include it but they didnt have it anymore. I just ordered one yesterday but idk when it will show up to install it.

Ok, so you can not use the clock spring that is in the tradesman not? Those are expensive on moparparts!

Correct, the Tradesman clock spring does not have the provision for the steering wheel to plug into.

I made the following changes to my truck to try and get the "Controls" added to my 8.4 radio but I am having no luck getting the radio to recognize I have heated seats. I ordered the center stack and clock spring but I was hoping to get the soft keys working so I could at least turn them on and off with the radio in the mean time. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. This is what I changed and it has been 48 hours and 10 or so key cycles with no change.

I've been hunting car parts for a heated wheel for weeks with no luck, what were the search options your were using? I've just been searching for 2019 - 2022, 2500 or 3500 only

Good luck mate, I was literally watching for a leather heated steering wheel since I bought my truck back in Nov of 2019. I would type in 19 or 20 ram steering wheel in eBay and have to filter through the 1500 wheels. I was almost tempted to try a 1500 wheel and see if it would work on the 2500 but I lucked out and found one from a 2500. Check car-part, eBay, and lkqonline, daily. Wheels do show up on these sites but they are gone fast.

Have to give @Jimmy07 a shout out for helping me get the missing AlfaObd settings.

I now have working heated seats in my tradesman. The soft keys are present in the 8.4 radio and I can turn the seats on and off. Once I get the clock spring installed I will update the thread and let you all know if the steering wheel works. So far I have added no wiring to my truck it has all been plug and play.

I was missing these additional settings to the list above that Jimmy07 helped me with.

Memory front heated seat present- YES

Seats B front heated seat levels- 3 LEVEL (high/med/low/off)

Cabin Net Comfort Seat Wheel Module- ENABLED

Okay I got the clock spring installed and the heated wheel works with no additional wiring. Once I get the center stack installed I will update again. Here are the part numbers I ordered.

Clock Spring - 68425689AA
Center Stack - 68370125AB (this is for manual climate controls with an 8.4 screen)

So just the clock spring and wheel needed, you didn't need a different wiring harness?

Correct, while I was swapping the clock spring I noticed that the adjustable pedals plug was also wired into a dummy plug on the old clock spring. The new one has the plug for the adjustable pedals so I am sure adding those would be easy as well if you could find a pedal assembly.

Great write up thank you did you need to change alpha OBD settings for the heated steering wheel and radio controls?

Did the radio buttons on the rear of the steering wheel work as well? Did these require programming?
