Hood fills with water after it rains. Now with video.

Honestly, I wish I only had this issue. Getting water in the hood isn't nearly as bad as getting water in the cab

I assume the brake light. No sunroof. On my previous RAM 2500, I had both rear window (non-slider OEM) and brake light leaking.

Have you done the Home Depot weather seal fix yet? I had to do that one on my 1500.

Well... normally dealers will work to fix water in the cab... but not on the hood one.

Thanks for this info. My hood was filling and I took my truck into the dealer yesterday. They are covering it under warranty and replacing the badges. This site is a great source of information. You guys rock.

Just curious where are you located, and what dealer did you use?

Have you looked for drain holes elsewhere and if they are clogged?

This. I had a ford driver door full of water a few years back. Drain was clogged.

So I took my truck(2019 RAM 3500) in for the step recall and a couple other items. One of them was that every time it rains or I give my truck a bath, the hood fills up with water and drains when I open it. The dealer has told me it is ok as the hood has drains. I am thinking it's like saying that my shop roof can leak as long as I have a floor drain. Thoughts?

I asked if I could drill a hole in the lover part of the hood to assist in drainage and was told it would void the warranty... I am at a loss because I am sure damage will occur over the years.....

So, the aluminum hood won't rust, but it will corrode. Chrysler had no problem covering mine under warranty.

Yah I got the same dumb ass answer! There should be a recall on this!

Yea, I swapped mine for black. The foam is just enough to keep it from rattling. No way it seals out the rain or car wash

If he was really enterprising he would have offered to winterize it. RV and boat antifreeze will work, but I prefer blinker fluid for peace of mind.
