2020..halogen lights..i kinda think they suck

Thanks. I had been looking at the Ultra-2 based on their recommendation over the S-V.4. If the S-V.4 do well, all the better given that they are a little cheaper. I see there is currently a sale on both the GTR and S-V.4, so that works. They also told me that the 19+ 1500 high beam options will work in the 19+ 2500/3500.
Do yourself a favor and compare that SV.4 to the light I posted about on amazon, katana. I’m pretty sure they are the same rebranded products and a lot of people are getting ripped off by old headlight revolution.

not a fan of leds like I said..ill try to do some before and after if I can do the silverstar ultra in the low beams..highs are good enough...lows alone suck.......good thread tho...thanks

I'm still surprised anyone looks at the Silverstars any more. I gave up on them long ago. Without exception, I got what I considered to be a not awesome beam, and absolutely awful lifespan.

Not to mention the class action lawsuit that happened a few years back

There was a class action lawsuit over fricken bulbs!?? This country is getting real, real soft.
Yea because the claims about being 30% brighter than factory bulbs was wrong and most cases they made the light output worse plus didnt last worth a ****

I've got the GTR Ultra-2's in both low and high beams, and am very pleased with their performance. The lows have a very even and sharp horizontal top line. I don't remember which high/low bulb, but it has the ability to clock the LEDs relative to the reflectors in the housing. Anything is better than the OEM halogens, but I find these a significant improvement over the original halogen and am not getting flashed by others. They were purchased through HR; their website generally sucks, but customer service after the purchase was good when I ordered the wrong turn signal bulbs (non-CK) and couldn't get them to work on my own. Not cheap, but still much less than switching to OEM LED housings.

With regard to hyped claims, I just got a letter from Diode Dynamics politely asking me on behalf of NHTSA to turn in my SL-1's I installed a few years ago in my 2017 Duramax Colorado. It seems some models of these LEDs output exceeds the DOT limits, so they'll gladly exchange them for some good, new halogen bulbs...

I've got a pair of ultra 2's I might be selling if you're interested. Swapping my headlights out and have to use H7's and the ultras are h11. Might save you some money.

Whats a quick way to check if my 2019 limited has LED head lights as on my spec sheet. As I think the current hi beam suck .

All Limiteds have adaptive LED headlights. If your high beams aren’t good then it’s probably an aiming issue. My Limited has some of the best headlights I’ve ever had, but when I got the truck the lights were aimed sky high and the brights were almost useless.

As soon as they show up I'll be happy to report my experience.
As promised, I am happy to report that the S-V.4s are in the Durango and they are a HUGE improvement over the OPT7s that I pulled out. I know they are spendy, but since it is dark by the time my wife comes home from work, she's happy with them, which means I'm happy.

Wasn't happy with my halogens and changed the bulbs to LED via PWM module. Used GTR CSP Mini's as I didn't want them too bright, but better than what I had. GTR CSP Mini's were a huge improvement and brighter than stock LED, but not too bright. I did have to buy a H11 extension to get the PWM module and bulbs to fit, but it worked. Headlight Revolution worked with me and they were a great help. Tight fit, but it works and cost was far less than replacing the entire lights. They have much brighter, but I didn't want to blinds others and/or need a ticket.

My big horn came with halogens and I don’t care for them at all...
Is there an option to just put in a better bulb without messing with any wiring or modules? Hi and low bulbs?

I put LED bulbs in my halogen housings. Problem is, they are not legal and produce a lot of glare. I could see great but I did get flashed a bit. Direct plug and play with no additional equipment.

Thanks, Got a part number for what you used?

like a h8 or something...what’s better

Thoughts on these?

This is what I have. They are H11, same as factory halogen bulb. They are pricey at $199. I will sell you mine for cheaper if you're interested. Not familiar with the ones you are referencing. However, I did buy a set of cheaper led bulbs before these that a lot of folks recommend and were much cheaper but I was not happy with them.

FWIW, I replaced the low beams and high beams w/LED's in my 2020 Tradesman and have no issues with oncoming glare for the lows. They have a very defined horizontal cut-off line, and much improved light over the OEM halogen bulbs.
GTR LED low beams

I also used the same brand for the highs and they really throw some light...
