Hello All... can someone verify this.... I just tried to get my PIN from the steelership that I bought the truck from, the parts guy is saying I need the VIN, Registration showing ownership, and the SN from the radio in the truck...
I expected needing the VIN and a proof of ownership, but the radio SN sound like BS... Ive searched many posts here and on other forums and I haven't found any postings talking about the radio SN....

Is it possible the i used the wrong language??? I asked for the truck PIN... is it called something else or do i need to be more specific ??

Any Help is appreciated..
K

I’m assuming you want the PIN for the RF Hub? If so, don’t bother. It’s useless to you, and you can’t do anything with it. Dealership must think you are referring to the 4 digit radio anti theft code. These new RF Hubs require witech and live connection with a VIN token to be able to do anything with the RF Hub. What were you wanting to do with the PIN?

I'm not doubting anything being posted here, I'm just adding my experience to the pile.

A friend who does locksmith things and I were able to program a key for my 2019 2500 with a knockoff Autel unit (Auro Otosys) using the 5 digit PIN we pulled from the truck using the same tool. I haven't been brave enough to try and get AlfaOBD to play nice with it, but it seems there is both a rolling code PIN that Witech uses that's supplied by the online connection, but there is also a non-connected PIN, so using non-Witech (official) means is possible.

There’s no such thing as a 5 digit PIN for fob programming, it will always be 4 digits. The 5 digit alphanumeric PIN is the code for cutting the physical key. AlfaOBD definitely can’t program a fob on a 2019+ HD Ram. If one were to obtain their PIN from the parts department today, and go back tomorrow to obtain the PIN again, it will be different.

I understand what you're saying, and I thought that was the case too, but my locksmith friend assured me that we could do it using his setup and we did. It is not a Witech and is not talking to FCA in any form... and it 'read' a 5 digit PIN from the truck then we used that to program a fob to the truck. The tool was also able to read the fact that two fobs were already programmed to the truck.

The 5 digit pin is not alphanumeric, just numbers. The tool called it a 'password'.

His explanation (he has quite a few years in the business and does most of the used inventory for the local dealerships) was that the new vehicles (not just FCA stuff) have two sets of PINs, one that is a rolling PIN from the OE database, then another hard-coded PIN that can be used by aftermarket tools. This was the first 19+ HD RAM he had done, so it was a bit of an unknown, but it did work as expected.

So Jimmy07, did I waste my cash on the MX+ OBD2 tool and Bypass cable... I initially got it after reading that with these tools, one would be able to be to change things like tire sizes, TPMS Setting, add/changing Fobs, Etc... Granted, most of these posts Ive read weren't for 2020's and there were comments doubting some reported experiences, but the overwhelming gist was that it was possible to do these things with the above listed tools... It always seems that learning from interest forums requires a little deductive reasoning. If anyone can point me to "published" reading material on this stuff I would prefer trying to educate myself then sifting thru pages here.

Thanks

On the 2019+ Rams, you don’t need to reset the RF Hub with a PIN anymore to make tire pressure threshold changes or anything like that. You just use AlfaOBD to change the threshold in the BCM, and the hub will automatically pick up on it. If you don’t already have Selectable Tire Fill Assist in your radio settings, use AlfaOBD to enable it, and you don’t even need AlfaOBD to change the tire pressure thresholds.

What about changing tire sizes and adding or changing fobs

Thanks

So changing the tire fill assist presets/values actaully does change the TPMS threshold?

I may have to go eat crow on a FB page...

Not for me. I lowered my values to 45, aired down to 60 psi and then received the warning to fill them back up.

But once I used AlfaOBD to update the settings, I no longer receive the warning.

Hmm...we had a big horn as a work truck on the job site over the summer. We enabled selectable tire fill, lowered the threshold and pressure through the truck settings only (not AlfaOBD), and it took. Granted, it took a few drive cycles with a trip around the plant for the rf hub to pick up on it for the warning screen to go away.

I don't have the TPMS threshold setting to adjust, or at least cannot find it. 2019 Laramie. Was this an option?
The ProCal SNAP is intended to work on all 2019+ excluding PW, but this is only for tire size and PSI and uses the radio controls to adjust.

As for PIN, i had walked up to my local parts department, gave them the VIN and they printed out 3 codes for me, no question
1. NNNN
2. ANNNN
3. NAAANAANAANNNNN (last 8 digits being the last 8 of your VIN)

Maybe I just got impatient. I did put about 150 miles on it with the warning on, but only two off/on cycles, then once I got home made the change with AlfaOBD.

I just enabled SFA and set to 40 psi to test this. I don't have AlfaOBD or ProCal Snap so I've been riding with the light on for the past few months.
After 10 miles of driving after setting SFA the light is still on. I'll update if/when the light goes out. I don't drive much though so it could be a bit.

I've done over 100 miles and 10+ on/off cycles over the last few days. I'll keep an eye on it but I don't believe SFA adjusts the TPMS thresholds.

I would caution anyone changing tire size on a +19MY truck. My truck is now stuck with two warnings and I cannot get rid of them, ESC and trailer brake. I have code C006A in the ABS module and it will not clear no matter what I do.
I have gone through the initialization, cycle, clear rolls countless times, disconnected my batteries overnight, etc. I found another person on a different ram forum who had a 2020 PW with the exact same situation as mine with the same code and warnings and it required a trip to the dealer. Somehow Alfa had wiped out some software. I am going to have to schedule my truck with the dealership tomorrow to get mine fixed. Thought about just playing dumb and saying these errors just showed up but I am sure they can tell I was in making changes with Alfa.

I also have played around with my STF and have had no luck with it changing tpms thresholds even as a preset.
