What did you do TO your RAM today?

I had already invested in several 1" (25mm) RAM Mounts pieces and arms and found a plate I could modify to fit the upper cubby.

https://www.rammount.com/ All kinds of ball base options. I used the 6.25x2" universal marine mount and cut/drilled o fit.

Do you not have the center console with the built in phone mounts? I like those. I had just bought Ram mounts for my 07 when my wife decided we needed a new truck. Probably use it in my Jeep now even though I have a tablet mount in it already.

The low mounts where the useless wireless charger is? Yes, but I like my phone up on the dash where I can see it and use it without really taking my eyes off the road.

Need wired connection for AA anyway if I use it, so there's that too. I also have data blocker adapters plugged into the other USB ports that I can just move the cable if I only want to charge and not light up AA for any reason.

I also keep an older S6 down low that I use the Torque app on and run an IP cam app when it's in the driveway. My dashcam is only F/R view, not cabin.

I see. I always use AA and I don't have wireless charging.

Make no mistake. With over 30 years experience. You don’t get something for nothing. If you put in filters that filter less instead of increasing surface area you will shorten the life of your engine. K&N is a farce. You would have to design your own air box and install filters with same micron filtration level but increase surface area to really gain anything. I seriously doubt you have enough room within the engine compartment to accomplish that. Just saying. Why do you think semi’s run filter assemblies externally on the truck? Those are the ones they decided needed more air.

One thing I'll mention about K&N - FWIW I used to buy their stuff but never ever will again. I spent a fair amount of time racing motorcycles. Not MX (did that years ago) but road racing. A few years ago, tracks across the country banned K&N oil filters because of shoddy manufacturing and design, resulting in an extraordinarily high number of them catastrophically failing on the racetrack, oiling up the track. These were not wives tails. These were real, actual, true failures that factually resulted in crashes in many cases - and ALWAYS resulted in the track going red, and hours of cleaning spent because the filter had failed and oil has spewed over long stretches of the track. Never again K&N for me. Ever. They used to be a good company. They cheeped out and moved contract manufacturing years ago. My personal experience, backed up by evidence, is that K&N is junk.

So if I‘m gettin what you’re saying...you’re not a fan of K&N. I’m betting you won‘t like my choice of oil either...what’s your thoughts on SuperTech ... Just sayin.. I’ve got a few miles on my tires too and understand where you’re coming from. It’s a gas engine, not a diesel but filtration is relative in both. If I had the nerve I’d cut a hole in the hood and poke a shaker through it, no external air cans for me!!

On the dyno, K&N filters didn't do a darned thing on the race bikes. We're talking about full race R1s making 200rwhp. Now, the BMC race filters did have a little impact. That being said, we spin those motors between 10k and over 14k rpm. Same thing with the R6. If I ran that bike at below 10k, I was wrong. Remember though - these were full race bikes - so oil changes every weekend, absolutely no use other than on a dyno or on a racetrack. Additionally, even the BMC filters wouldn't do a darned thing without some very serious tuning and mapping, completely different exhaust... There is no way I'd put a BMC race filter on a street driven bike, and there's no way I'd put a K&N filter of any type on anything.

I used to use K&N on my desert bikes and Jeeps. Years ago they were good. Their quality has dropped and the current technology used in stock filters has gotten better. Having said that there are ways of increasing flow without going ginormous on the filter box. The curves and general design of the entire system can have an effect. The size and fold of the pleats can increase airflow without decreasing the micron of the filtration. I do not intend to change the filter system out on my 2020. I did notice a difference on my 2007 Cummins. It smoked a little less when I got on it.

I installed an S&B on my mildly tuned 04.5 HO and saw about 50* drop in EGT, more turbo whistle, and that was about it. No SOTP power gains felt or MPG gains. Same thing with a smooth bore Pusher intake. Maybe 50* drop but it was a cool red one so the truck must have been faster.

What size level/wheels/tires did you go with. I like that stance.

As a quick follow up, I ended up getting rid of those wheels. Unfortunately, they were just a wee bit to big. I moved to a 0MM offset, and went with a 20x9 instead of 20x10. They were just too aggressive for just a level, they were rubbing on the back side of the wheel a bit to much. May want to keep that in mind if you took my recommendation with any grains of salt.

Started installing the Switch-Pros Module and keypad with the SDHQ brackets. Still need to wire it to power , and then start wiring in accessories.

Did the passenger side b-pillars. Removed the stock matte and re-wrapped it in 3M gloss black. Blends in better with my 5% windows.

Weather is crappy, so no pics. And not just "today", however......

Over the past few weeks here's what I all got done:

BD S8 hidden front light bar via Aux
BD Reverse lights via Aux
Spray in bed-liner
X15 Pro cover
TigerTough seat covers
AMP rear step
nFab side steps
Block heater cord using Noco power inlet plug mounted to front air dam
FluidFilm rust protection

All I have left really is some paint film for the front - that all paint sport front end in white ends up looking like somebody shot it with a shotgun after a while otherwise.

Nice!! Woukd love to see the pics of the Noco power unit? I was thinking about doing something like that with the block heater cord.
