TPMS (TIS) sensors for trailer (SOLVED - see 1st post) aka TTPMS - Trailer TPMS

If you order the Trailer TPMS option, it comes with 4 sensors.

It's one of those things on the checklist for taking deliver on a new truck.
Well that explains why I found them in the truck, right after they told me they were backordered and it would be an unknown amount of time before they came in... thanks for that, I'll cancel my order for the now "extra" sensors and get some cash back in my pocket.

Thanks!

I have a question and hopefully someone has an answer. I installed the TTPMS system, had the sensors mounted in my 5th wheel tires, was able to pair each one to my truck on the radio. I'm pretty sure I saved the settings, but when I go to the EVIC, all I get is TTPMS not configured. I am almost certain I enabled all of the Alpha OBD settings, just wondering if someone had this issue and found a solution.

Yes, I did it at the dealer when I picked up the 5th wheel, but the only message I ever see in the evic is not configure, some posts indicate I should see the trailer icon but no pressures indicated. After setting up the pressures and thinking successfully, I did not see the evic readings, only that it was not configured.

Do you need electric brakes for it to detect your trailer or can it detect it with the lights?

I installed all of my modules yesterday and paired the trailer tires to it, process was quite simple but I did get it flashing back to the 'not configured' screen a few times in the minutes following, but after towing the trailer around the block everything seems to have settled in and is now happy.

Thanks @Phil T for the great instructions. Installed the module in the headliner this evening. About 20 minutes in all thanks to the detailed pics.

Now I just need to get the sensors mounted in my Airstream wheels and calibrate.

Amazing that these things didn't come standard in 2019.

You are welcome from all of us that played a part in making it happen.

Merry Christmas

The kit for the tires on trailer is 68433188AA. They will not work until our trucks are fitted with a TTPM! However or we keep believing that the books and pictures are correct we will just go crazy! Dealer list is 244.00 for a 4 sensor kit.
I'm new to this forum, is this kit number a Mopar number or what ?

I ordered my 2020 3500 ho limited without the ttpms or camera options. After reading this thread I've decided to add the ttpms as I tow multiple trailers and think it would be nice to be alerted of a tire issue before it becomes a blowout. I went to my local dealer today and ordered all the parts in the list in the first post of this thread. My question is has anyone had the dealer enable the ttpms option in the bcm, or is it not possible for them to access those parameters on a dealer level? I asked them about it and they didnt seem to sure about any of it. They just said bring the truck in and we will see, but my truck is in my garage right now and won't see the light of day until spring time and all the salt is gone here in Ohio.

I don't think there's any after-the-sale sales code for them to add using WiTech, so you're most likely going to have to find someone or a shop with a bypass cable and AlfaOBD.

It’s hard to read through 53 pages of posts. So, do I need to get a TIM for my 2020 hd 3500 like the 2019s? Thanks

If you didn't have the ttpms from the factory, then yes. You also need the jumper cable and receiver module which is at the rear under the bed near the trailer connector.

Man is this still going? Have they NOT been sending them out from the factory with this yet? This is ridiculous.

It's still an option. Not looking back through the thread, but I seem to recall availability something like early Feb as I think I missed it by only a few weeks.

Thanks for the info. Just finished passive entry add on and this is next

Like many AlfaOBD hacks, that will take some time to show in the radio.
Got mine to show in the EVIC before I even cycled the key (push button) the radio, however, took 1 key cycle, and then pressure setup was there. Major thanks to everyone that figured this out! Just set up the trailer tonight and ready to hit the road!
