What did you do TO your RAM today?

Thank ya sir. Turned out pretty good.

OEM 220amp alternator installed on my Power Wagon. This thing produces way more power at idle than the 180amp, should help keep the battery voltage up when winching.

looks great....you do a "how to"?

Installed a Christmas gift I got from my folks. Bulletproof phone mount. Seems very sturdy and it fits really nice. Comes with screws to mount directly into the factory threaded holes.

Is the arm base magnetic also so I could move it closer to me? Or is it attached to the base permanently?

The base is fixed into the small cubby on top of the dash and doesn't move, but you can order different length arms. The ball/socket joints make it easy to manipulate and rotate around.

I've been looking at these for a couple weeks - however they've been sold out so no joy for me.

I am considering one of these:

Got some new wheels and tires put on ( plus a level ). Super quiet, and getting good mpg. I told myself prior to moving into an HD i would just leave it alone ( Came from a 1500 that was stupid overdone ), i got the bug though, and decided i would do a few simple / nice mods to it. So, this morning I had the shop tint the windows, install the running boards, the wheels and tires. Little pricey, but worth it for the look it gives. Coming from a 1500 this is a massive improvement for me and my trailer!

Looks great! It is hard to leave them unmodified LOL

Thanks! It really, really is. In fact, i had to make a deal with the wife. I had to sell my project car so I could use those funds to start buying stuff I wanted. I figured since i lost a WHOLE car, i'd go a little crazy with the upgrades. plus, since the truck only has a couple hundred miles, I was able to sell the old tires and rims for 1500, practically made my money back!

I keep promising to sell my 2007 Cummins. Meanwhile, parts are stacking up in the garage for my 2020. I did sell my project Jeepster a few months ago though.

May wanna try amazon. I didn't buy this (was a gift) but it seems very well designed.

For what it's worth, I have a cheaper version in my Yamaha SXS that uses the same magnetic plate attached to the phone case type mount. It has some vibration at idle that make the screen almost unreadable. This bulletproof system seems much more stable.

What size level/wheels/tires did you go with. I like that stance.

The wheels are 20x10 with a -18 offset, the tires are 35x12.5x20 , the truck has a level ( no real lift ). It's a little too offset for me personally, I really wanted something like a -6, or maybe a -12, but the -18 looks pretty good. The tires are cooper ST MAXX, literally no road noise. It's what pushed me to an agressive A/T instead of a more agressive M/T , i had some cooper M/T's on my 1500 and it was just loud and obnoxious.

Yeah, I tried Amazon also. I won't get the magnetic mount though - I prefer the "grip" mount.

So if I‘m gettin what you’re saying...you’re not a fan of K&N. I’m betting you won‘t like my choice of oil either...what’s your thoughts on SuperTech ... Just sayin.. I’ve got a few miles on my tires too and understand where you’re coming from. It’s a gas engine, not a diesel but filtration is relative in both. If I had the nerve I’d cut a hole in the hood and poke a shaker through it, no external air cans for me!!
It’s just very simple. There are those out there who reject basic physics to sell you their product. They spend more on Madison Avenue than research. If you have a bottomless pocket.... go for it.
I buy a new truck every 10 years. I take the best care of it I can and don’t try to make it more than it is. I accept that limitation at the time of order.

I had already invested in several 1" (25mm) RAM Mounts pieces and arms and found a plate I could modify to fit the upper cubby.

https://www.rammount.com/ All kinds of ball base options. I used the 6.25x2" universal marine mount and cut/drilled to fit.
