I am close to pulling the trigger on a stainless steel V-plow. My concern is the weight and squat. So far am considering either a Boss (my RAM dealer will pass along his discount) or a SnowX. They are both over 900 lbs. My Son-in-law works for a utility company and plows with their '19 2500 Tradesman with the SnowX. He says it has Timbrens in the front and it does reduce squat but the ride quality suffers some. I am a bit skeptical as I don't believe he has ever driven the truck without the Timbrens. Wondering if anyone has a similar experience that could share their opinion.

The proper counter balance is all that is needed i have never needed to add anything extra for my plows i have a 750lbs plow on my 19 cummins cclb 2500 with the 550 lbs counter balance thats called for my truck only drops 3/4” with the plow raised and nothing to supplement the springs even my old stainless v weighing in at 1000lbs on my old truck was no problem.... also buy the snow ex much better than a boss if your running a cummins you will need 960lbs rear weight if its the hemi you only need 530lbs counter balance

The counter balance is the most important thing with a heavy plow. I only use the timbrens on my old f150 7700. I wouldnt bother adding to the 2500.

Thank you H3LZSN1P3R and Bozo. That was the answer I was hoping for. I sold my 1994 F250 plow truck this summer. That had a Boss V-plow. The SnowX and Boss seem very similar per their websites. The SnowX is a strong contender but I think the $2000+ discount from my RAM dealer on the Boss will be hard to beat. I will get some other quotes next week.
Thanks H3LZSN1P3R for the info on the ballast. I seem to recall Boss recommended 400 lbs but your numbers make more sense.

The snow ex can be bought with down pressure, is a better hook up, and no return springs to break for the wings

I have the snow ex and it’s one of the best plows out there I believe but my research brought me to it looking at a lot of the plows
