I have a complete stock 2019 Ram 2500 Crew Laramie Night Edition. I want keep the stock wheels, I am going to do a 2.5 inch level. Any issues with putting on 35x12.5r20 on the stock wheels? I am new to all of this. From what I can find on here, I think I am good with doing this, but just wanted another opinion. Thanks

Hopefully someone with more technical knowledge will chime in here...but my loose understanding is the stock wheel is technically too narrow for the 12.5 wide tire. it will work just fine, but the middle/center section of tread on the tire will wear a little quicker, (especially if you're running stock pressure.) The solution is to air down the 35/12.5/20 tire so more of the tread hits the road.

From what I have been told is the stock wheel has to much backspace for a 12.50 tire and it will rub against the radius arm.

Thanks guys. Even with the 2.5 inch level it will rub? wpgram seems to be running them on stock wheels with no level. I see what you are saying johnnyroastbeef. Would going with a 35x10x20 be the solution?

I think you have the right idea, but I'm not sure that tire size exists.
They make a 35x11.5R20 and a 295/65R20 which is what i have on my '19 2500 Limited.
here are hte specs"

295/65R20
Diameter : 35.1"
Width : 11.6"
Wheel : 20" x 8-10"
Sidewall : 7.5"
Circum. : 110.2"
Revs/Mile : 575

Thanks, so your size of 295/65R20 is basically a 35x11.6x20?

SORRY!! i lied!!
I just looked at my tires and they are 295/60R20, here are the specs:

295/60R20
Diameter : 33.9"
Width : 11.6"
Wheel : 20" x 8-10"
Sidewall : 7.0"
Circum. : 106.6"
Revs/Mile : 595

1st, as per carli and THuren, level kits do nothing as far as tire clearance. As far as 12.5 on stock wheels, they will work but not the optimal wheel width. Any rub, if any, would be minimal. Again, look to THuron or carli for advice.

Thank you! I have been scouring thuren and carli's extensive knowledge base and still do not get clear and concise answers as to the perfect setup to keeping the stock 20x8 wheels. Everyone claims to buy new wheels to get the width of 12.5 + to fit. I do not want 12.5 + to be under my truck as of now, unless i decide to go to 37's. I want 11.5-6 width for now. So i am leaning with a setup to possibly get 2.25-3" coils, trackbar, radius drops, tuned shocks, etc.. i want to be one and done! lol.. THX for the info!

will do! I'll try and remember! LOL!! I'm on the fence on going with the 296/65/20 or 37's..... 37's will require new wheels & radius arms & drops to be done right, Two totally different suspension changes.... ugh.......

Yes I am debating between the BDS 3” or 4” lift or the Carli 3.25” and either 315/75/18 which is 36” tire or 37” tire and new rims or Carli 2.25 and 35x11.5x20” on factory wheels.
