Replacing Factory Headlight Housing

I've been wanting to upgrade the factory reflector headlights with projectors, but didn't want to break the bank. Just bought some spyder headlights, link below. There are two versions, I got the cheaper set in black. Not sure of the quality of spyder, but these as a set are cheaper than a single housing of the more expensive brands/OEM. Also, I've been running some pretty good LEDs already that will go in them. Just wanted to post this in case anyone else is interested. Will update once installed, after Christmas.

Those are pretty good looking, but know that they’re designed for halogen bulbs and the light pattern produced by them, not LEDs. You drastically change (and not for the better) the output of a light when you put a different type of bulb than it was designed for in there.

Yes, please give us a review and pictures of install. Id like to tame the brightness of the front of my truck down some since it has the chrome grille, bumper and standard headlights. I thought about tinting them but decided it would sacrifice the brightness of the lights. This is another option.

Appreciate the feedback, I did realize they were for halogen only but I'm going to give a shot anyway. I already made the mistake of putting LEDs in reflector housings, but hoping the project will provide a good cutoff line. We shall see. I enjoy the white light and brightness, but do get flashed a bit. Dont like being that guy so hopefully this fixes the problem. If not then maybe I'll to pay more for something else.

Will do. Thought about tinting as well. Also thought about doing a retrofit myself with projectors but then came across these headlights.

Update, I have received the headlights and something that wasn't mentioned or I didn't see was that these headlights use an H7 bulb. 4.5 gen trucks use an H11. The headlights come with halogen H7 bulbs installed as that's what they intend for you to use. However, I am annoyed because I am running aftermarket LED's (cost $200) that I assumed would transfer over to these lights. On top of that, in the warranty section, it says to use your OEM bulbs if the headlights don't come with any. Well, even though they came with bulbs it wouldn't have been possible anyways. As another poster mentioned above, using anything other than halogens would void the warranty. I am willing to accept that risk, but on the back of the light it is marked LED H7, making the user think those are acceptable. I haven't installed them yet, but will get pictures of what I referenced above. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to buy new H7 bulbs or try to retrofit the socket, wiring to accommodate my H11's.

Ouch man. It’s always something or something always comes up for me when I go and try to make something my own. I wish I could buy a truck, dirt bike, utv, golf cart or really anything with wheels and be 100 percent satisfied. I always want to tinker with it someway.
