Truck won't unlock after remote start

Just a short update. My truck is at dealer since thursday. They are short on stuff due to the whole COVID thing. Hopefully they will get it done today and then I can start a case with RamCares. BTW they are replacing wiring and hood lock with switch.

hopefully they will get it fixed and you will have no need to start a case with RamCares..

Yeah. I don't think they will. It looks like they don't know what is going on and just replace/fix one thing at a time that you can tell right away is not the problem.

Yikes, the shotgun approach. Just start replacing stuff. They should get it...... eventually.
 
At the dealer right now. Took my fobs and said something wrong with the doors lock/unlock function. Obviously wiring and hood latch replacement didn't work. They are reprogramming the fobs now. Looks like I will have to start a case with ram care cause obviously they have no idea what to do next

So next they ask the part department and they told them remote start won't work on trucks with electronic gate release. I will contact ram care now. I'm tired going back and forward to the dealer with same issue over and over

funny (not really) mine has electronic gate release and remote start all from the factory. I think they are both part of the Power wagon package.
 
I just got home from my dealer. I purchased 2 new oem keys with remote start and tailgate release from BAM Wholesale. Dealer tech added XBM sales code and programmed both new keys. Tech brought my vehicle around. Showed me that both remote start and remote tailgate released as advertised. I've remote started about 1/2 a dozen times between dealer and home and unlocks on first try every time.

Okay so I started the case with RamCare. Hopefully their engineers will figure it out. All this come to the point where dealer advised me to install a aftermarket remote starter.

And they still haven't replaced the RF hub as everyone has been suggesting?
Nope. Also i just got off the phone with ram cares and they told me Mopar is considered aftermarket parts and it looks like if it wasn't factory installed they can't do much about it. She said she will try to look more into the issue bit she can't promise anything

Mopar is considered aftermarket parts? Interesting. The previous distinction of OEM vs Aftermarket has been blurred now. :D Is it still aftermarket if they install the Mopar parts?

What she told me is that she can't say if they use parts from Mopar when you get remote start from factory.

The part number of the hood latch in the factory mopar remote start kit (the only actual part besides wiring) is the exact same part number that is installed when the truck is built with the remote start option.

She said when they build the truck it might not be made to accept remote start after the truck was purchased. What she meant by that if they add the remote start when the truck was built they might have to use different configuration and hardware for it to work properly and my truck might not have that. I told her there are owners who had their remote start added from factory and have same problem. She told me they are not aware of that.
