Guess I need an offset ball...

Well, I hooked up one of our cargo trailers today for the first time and found out I should have bought a long bed. The trailer will not clear the cab. This is close, but not touching in the picture. If I roll forward any more; it will be into the glass and cab.
Is there an offset goose ball that works with the factory prep. package? I have the Mopar gooseneck ball that drops in, but need the offset for clearance.

Unfortunately, I've never seen an OEM offset ball, only the one for the B&W turnover ball setup.

With the square nose, there's certainly not a lot of room to play with. Is there any way to covert that trailer to a Kingpin and get a slider 5th wheel for the truck?

The RAM GN hole is round and you can't use an offset ball.

I don't think that coupler @AKDoug linked is going to give you any clearance to make the 90. A GN setup mounted in a puck rail is one option.

FWIW, I *think* someone replaced the Mopar center GN mount with a B&W turnover setup. May be worth looking into.

Anderson ultimate hitch. Or a slider and switch the goose on trailer to fifth wheel adapter tube.

I did swap the OEM for the B&W turnover ball. Here is the thread on it.

That is definitely a long bed. Plus the trailer nose is narrower, but it's also a glamour shot for a website so who knows the reality behind that shot. Regardless, it sounds like there are solutions that may work for you.

Thanks!

I made that thread a sticky.

Look at the Reese sidewinder it puts the trailer back .

I should also mention that if you're pulling that gooseneck with other trucks and don't want the extender, then it may not be a solution for you. However the offset coupler makes really really tight turns no issue for either my '04 Cummins or my '20 Cummins. It does, however mean that a good portion of your bed behind the ball will not be usable when towing. I prefer the kind I posted about over the B&W only because of the remote disconnect capability. Usually I'm a big B&W fan.

Anderson Ultimate Hitch is the bomb! I use one. It weighs 35 pounds and is easily taken in and out. I've towed around the country with one and am happy as hell with it!

Oh, it's a bomb all right.

This thread is regarding clearance issues on a Gooseneck trailer.

I'm not a fan of the Anderson Hitch if you're using to deal with a short bed truck and a gooseneck. The problem with that hitch IMHO is that it seems to me to put load behind the actual ball/hitch location, moving the leverage point. That's the entire purpose of the "frame". Effectively, that hitch makes the setup a hybrid between a gooseneck and a bumper pull IMHO. Obviously, that's just my opinion but I won't use it.

The anderson hitch setup does explicitly address clearance issues on a gooseneck trailer. I do not like the way it does it, but the reply was on point and related directly to the OPs post.

Does the AUH allow a GN connection?

Still wouldn't trust it.
